i have this friend. i'm a guy, btw. and she...it's a really long story. but she is really lonely and apparently no one likes her. i mean, we're like best friends and i have a gf and she has a ...like. well, she just...feels lonely and i don't know what else to say to her. i guess it would be easier if you could see our conversations, but, long story short: she doesn't care to get hurt, that is, to settle, for a guy to whom she refers as "jerk" as long as she has someone who "needs her"...she is lonely and wants a bf, basically. and i think she's too analytical about her "relationship." she is really "i've done everything right" and "he just doesn't like me" and i just told her that she needs to (she is extremely outgoing and friendly) just be more from-the-heart instead of so list-oriented about getting a guy to like her. i also told her she couldn't MAKE a guy like her, but could deepen her relationship with him--i know from experience, about which she knows, and i don't know--any advice i could give her. she's just really lonely and depressed right now

Too lonely

Does she have any friends (besides yourself)? Why does she feel like she needs a personal relationship?

This may not apply to your situation, but sometimes there's only so much you can do for someone else. I've been trying to help this girl I've known for about a year to better her life (she's staying with a boyfriend who isn't good for her) and get away from this guy. There's only so much I can do though, and she's going to have to realize that sooner or later she needs to leave.Hopefully you can somehow help this girl, though. It sucks not being able to do anything else to help, believe me.
