Have you heard of Peter North?
-
originally the Vapors recorded that song, however I also have a version recorded I may like better by a band you may well have seen. San Diego locals that got a record deal ya know.
ever see sprung monkey?
its a toss up what version I prefer, and I like alot of sprung monkey, I knew them before I found the version they had recorded of turning japanese. -
What about Pavel Novotny?
-
Sprung Monkey was the band to have at your highschool kegger party in the late 80's. I know Pat King who is now the bass player for Unwritten Law and I've met Steve Summers (lead singer) several times rollin C-Lo (dice) at my friend's house. Don't really care for their music but when I was like 14 or so I entered a Guitar Center "Drum-Off" and Sprung Monkey's drummer Earnie was also competing, and he won.(I was in the 15 and under and he was in the adult group)As far as a kick-ass SD band goes, Superunloader takes it hands down. Check out these samples on their link.http://www.superunloader.com/store.php#

but living in Utah I know very little of SD bands, outside of ones I saw when Iv been visiting SD. and of course one stha tgot a deal.
The first album mr funny face.. that sucked, Id never of thought to listen to them if I had heard it first but I happen to see them in a bar and the first song I heard from them was american made. I ended up buying the album while I was there party like a rock star and later found mr funy face in a used cd store back home. Im glad I didnt hear it first.
I dont know of anything they have done since, but I still listen to that album (CD) and have it in my car as well as some bootlegs of other shit they did like turning japanese.
Do they even still exist as a group?
I dont know. -
They do still exist, but they're deep underground even by San Diego standards.
