ever since my friend showed me this anime called gundam 00820 i have been constantly thinking about how the world is going to end.this lead to alot of research into the apocalypse. one of the initial signs is the rise of the temple of baal.and there are palistinian groups actually raising funds to take back the actual site where the temple was originally built. this for some weird reason popped the idea into my head that the anti christ might be already here and waiting to attack it might even be a subconcious state in some random person kind of like a dormant split personality. its probably self induced paranoia, a psychological hypochondria. brought upon by knowing too much and boredom but, i having thoughts of killing people, mass murders, genocide, and enslaving the world.i am scare-ing myself with the thoughts of such these are not subtle thoughts of he/she pisses me off its those "boring movie in history class daydreams that some how get way out of hand and too in depth i dont know what i should do, if anything at all, but i dont want to end up like some dahmer, bundy, or manson please if there is some psychological reason behind this i thought i might find it here

Going crazy...hopefully not
-
Uh, whatever the case, I doubt some temple means the end of the world. Sorry.
-
its actually written in the bible (old testament )by a guy whos made thousands of prediction of the future and has only been wrong once "the day of reckoning is upon thee site of the ressurected baal"thats what it is with all the old english the war in the middle east was another predcted sign of such events also "man shall destroy there own existence with creation and intention" the nuclear fail safe built during the cold war designed to destroy all life with a nuclear missles coordinated over every inch of land where people live the division of religious boundaries lays the final straw the war to end all shall take place, the attack on the world trade center and all the rest of the bombs stopped and caught inside the u.s. from alkaida groups and other such groups

Guess it's time to prepare for all our deaths, right?

An old mayan clock (which, when tested nuclearly, was only about 3 seconds off) predicted that the world would end in December, 2012.
Also, a famous man Nostradmous, or however you spell it, predicted that the world AS WE KNOW IT would end in year 2012.
1. All in all, it sucks. I graduate highschool and get blown up...son of a bitch!
2. Nostra-whatever said the world AS WE KNOW IT...that means gravity could just be turned off or something, thus creating the world THAT WE KNOW anew.
So maybe we won't all be blown up or killed by aliens after all!!
-
Whatever. The Bible also says that we won't REALLY know, and it's pointless to worry about it anyways. Just live your life being a good person.
And it's also kind of stupid to go by years, since years themselves are subjective. I mean, the Chinese have a totally different calendar... Isn't it waaaay past 2012 in it?

Everyone wants certainty, even about things that have no certainty. It causes more stress not to know what will happen, than to know the worst. So like a drowning man clutching at straws, people often clutch at the flimsiest of stories that appear to offer answers. However, the stories usually are fiction. It is quite easy to search the Bible online, for example through biblegateway.com. There is no mention of Baal in the apocalyptic books. There is no mention of the term "resurrected Baal", nor "creation and intention" in the Bible anywhere. The "quotes" are hoaxes, not in the Bible anywhere.I can't of course disprove the bit about Palestinian groups raising funds to "take back" the site of the "temple of Baal", but it has the smell of fiction, probably malicious by someone trying to discredit Palestinians. It makes no sense, especially as no-one knows where it might have been (somewhere in Samaria). The Mayan "clock" is a calendar, so it can't be checked against an atomic clock or any other. Indeed, we're not quite sure of the exact starting day: most scholars use August 11 3114 BC (Gregorian), but some think it was two days later. The calendar does not end in December 20 2012, as is often said. That date corresponds to the end of the 12th b'ak'tun after August 11 3114 BC. The previous (third) creation in Mayan mythology was supposed to have ended at the end of the 12th b'ak'tun in its life; but that was considered a failed creation, and the present (fourth) creation a successful one.The calendar itself copes with 19 b'ak'tuns when written in the most common, five-digit, form, but there are names for a further four vigesimal digits, suggesting it can in fact cope with at least 3,199,999 b'ak'tuns, taking us over a million millennia into the future. Mayan inscriptions sometimes include predictions of great anniversaries in the future, and some of these dates are well past 2012. King Pacal of Palenque predicted that the eightieth Calendar Round anniversary of his accession will be celebrated on October 21 4722.Nostradamus never predicted the world would end or dramatically change in 2012. His quatrains are notoriously obscure, but he appears to have predicted this for 1999, and it didn't happen. In fact, Nostradamus only quotes four dates in all of his quatrains, and they are all wrong.

Once again, Pete knows all.Oh, and this:> Everyone wants certainty, even about things that have no certainty. It causes more stress not to know what will happen, than to know the worst. So like a drowning man clutching at straws, people often clutch at the flimsiest of stories that appear to offer answers. Is how I think of religion. Well put, Pete.

But, the antichrist is supposed to bring the world together in peace, correct? From what I am thinking right now, isnt there still a war going on?
And you mean like, Baal, the lord of destruction? o,O

The Mayan calendar is far more precise than the Gregorian calendar, and all sign are pointing too one thing: we are approaching the end. December 21, 2012.There's no need to stress about this, nevertheless. I mean, you could get hit by a Mac Truck tomorrow, or later on today, and you won't be around to witness doomsday. If you do live til that date, you might be one of the survivors, like Will Smith in "I Am Legend."NOT~!

They knew THEY wouldn't be around this long, so they left us a blueprint.Smarter than us were these "primitive" people.

Alright so if you want to read about some apocolypse crap, without taking advice from people(mayans) who did not know how to operate cars.Revelations in the bible. Chapter 13. I think everyone should read it even if they aren't christians, it's kind of interesting. Not that I believe it.Also, If your going to tell me that a guy made 1000's of predictions and has only been wrong once, it means he has probably made really general statements, much like nostradumbass, and he probably made predictions which don't have a set time period to them, therefore never really making him wrong.I 100% agree with helmnsmen, I think either the sun will go supernova, or the moon will get out of gravitational pull. But we won't be around to see the day. Unless of course we clean up what we are doing to the environment, and we become extremely advanced in space exploration.- Hope we meet aliens.

If your christian your supposed to believe in the second coming of jesus, so if the date is December 21, 2012. That's fucking COOL.

To think otherwise would be silly, arrogant human thinking. Great point. Who is to say that we are not just some science project for some other sentient beings? That could be our "God". :]

We're an alien ant farm.

hahahahahahaha.Nostradomaus predicted several end of the world dates, and they all were wrong. The bible says jesus will be with us until the end of the "world" (Which was actually a mis-translated line from the old testament, it actually meant jesus will be with us until the end of the "age", which is 2150. The end of the age in 2150 is the end of Jesus' age, which is the age of Pisces, the fish symbol. You may be familiar with the pisces sign affiliated with christianity, such as the "Jesus Live" avatar. 2150 doesn't signify Jesus' second coming, but the new age of Aquarius. It's in the bible "ye will find the man holding a barrel of water." this is Aquarius, the symbol of the water bearer. The age of Aquarius starts after the age of Pisces, the age of Jesus. We're not dying people.)After researching the Mayans, i'm pretty sure they meant "The world will change forever, including peoples attitudes". Yes it is true, our solar system hits the galactic center in 2012, but it doesnt mean shit in terms of our world ending. I think peoples attitudes will change, whether it means a new government, or people actually doing something about global warming. There will always be a book, or a religion, or a person who doesnt exist anymore who says the end of the world is approaching us, usually in our lifetime. This was done for a simple reason guys, to keep us in check. So we be good people, and repent for our sins, and try to die as holy as we can, so that we go to heaven if this really does happen. However, once you realize that religion was made for the purpose of controlling the masses of people, regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, or location, we can finally see that religion is nothing more then a scapegoat. Bush said god told him to invade Afghanistan. If i told you the world is ending in a week, would you believe me? No. Then why do you believe some mayans who lived centuries ago?and the bible doesn't say the world is ending in 2150 contrary to popular belief.I think a lot of you here need a wake up call, so i'm going to give it to you. I think you'll like this StillSearching.http://www.zeitgeistmovie.comNot the best form of what i'm talking about, but it gets it accross with visuals."The Power of Nightmares" is a good watch too, 3 hours long.Educate yourselves people.

More than any person living in the modern world, actually, so don't feel bad. It's easy to discredit them as primitive people, and say things like "Well, they couldn't operate a car." Who the fuck cares, cars just polute the earth anyway.

I think you'll like this StillSearching. Why would I like that? I watched like 4 minutes of it and had no idea what the hell that was supposed to be.> we can finally see that religion is nothing more then a scapegoatThat's what I've been saying for a while now.

Bush said god told him to invade Afghanistan. If you look at the very essence of what religion is, what it is based upon. You should realize that it is actually not such a bad thing. Religion IS a way of controlling people, however the belief's behind religion is a way of GUIDING masses of people. If you are going to take quotes from a village idiot, then that is very unfair to base an entire religion or being upon. I do not believe in any of the current and preivous religions god(s) However, I do think there is a high chance of there being a higher spiritual being . To deny that there may be a possiblity of one, would be insanely ignorant. I hear stories of how people have had 'out of body' experiences, I know a ex-priest who told a story of one, where the person was able to name every single person in the room next to them. I sure hope there is something else after life as we know it.

Unless you call your own brain a spiritual higher being.
