It seems like ever since I started having my period, I get really sick on like every other one.I get really painful cramps in my side that just don't stop. They're quite painful, so much so that I can't even function when I have them; I just lie on my bed and grit my teeth every time a new one stabs me in side.In addition to that, my body starts forcing me to throw up. It usually happens on days when I don't eat anything for breakfast. I'm fine at first, then suddenly I really have to throw up. Except, there's nothing to throw up. I just lean over the toilet choking up spit and stomach acid.Is that normal?

For the cramps, have you tried taking PMS medicine? As for the vomiting, that's not normal. Whether its linked to your period or not, no one can say but it's not healthy.Perhaps a trip to the doctor is in order.

Sometimes going on oral contraceptives is very effective at stopping cramps. The vomiting isn't normal and you should see your doctor.

I got sick when I got my period, until my doctor put me on the pill.See a DR about the throwing up though. The only time I threw up was when I smelt fish - it wasn't routine or anything.Side story - when I went to go get my wisdom teeth taken out, the nurse mentioned my birth control (which my mom calls hormone pills) and my dad was in the room. He didn't know up until that point. Very, very tense moment.

Last week my mom said she would schedule a doctor's appointment for me during the winter break for something else so I'll talk to my doctor about the vomiting then. I'll also ask her about the cramps and see if she can prescribe some medicine for me.
