On tuesday we had to put my dog of 10 years down:( It was the most horrible experience ever. Especially since yesterday was my moms birthday. She was devastated.Anyone know of anything that can make this not hurt so bad?

Time is the only thing. Have your good cries, and in time it will get easier.Losing a pet can hurt just as bad as losing a close family member.
-
Sorry to hear about your dog.
-
I'm sorry, that's hard.Give it some time, and then consider whether you want to get another dog.

Anyone know of anything that can make this not hurt so bad? Been there done that. Nothing can help except time.

I feel really bad for ya. I've been there and I know nothing that can help, other than tears for such a special relationship with such a special being. Only time will help and good memories of the love you shared will replace the hurt. One day memories of your best friend will bring a heartfelt smile and a warm feeling of love will replace the grief and pain.
All you can do for now is allow yourself to feel what you must and let the love for such a special friend slowly replace and fill your heart and heal the void that has been left.

It has been a horrible, hard week. It feels so weird not having him around here. Not to be greeted at the door by him or see him sleeping on his bed. He was such a good dog:(

my dog Id had since I was 12 died long ago.
lets see she was 13 and I was 12 when I got her so 12 and 13...11 years ago.
I never had another dog after her.
till recently.
there isnt shit but time that takes pain away, took 11 years to take enough from me to do it again.
She wasnt supposed to be my dog, she just ended up being mine. she slept in my bed and guarded me form ym own parents should they open my door with out me saying it was OK, she never left my side when she could help it, I took her with me when I moved out at 18, I still miss that fucking dog.
