Has anyone else heard about this? It seems really serious, and I have a friend over there in Sacramento, whom I hope is okay. I have aol and it was on the front welcome page. I hope it doesn't do more damage than what it has and what is expected.

California Storm
-
Oh wow. Third? That's crazy. Glad you're okay though. I saw the picture of the overturned truck. I definitely feel for the Californians right now.
-
my old house (we still own it) in sacramento the palm tree fell onto the neighbors car in his driveway, my exs had a tree fall on her house and took off the wall to the outside which sucked cause it was still raining, and driving away saw 2 more trees fall before they made it the 3 miles out of the neighborhood to go to a hotel.

I live in S.C. California and yesterday was bad. Today is bad but not anything compared to yesterday. High winds, lots of power out, crazy rain etc etc. I was driving somewhere yesterday and most the stop lights are out, freeway was halfway flooded, and i couldnt see more then a car or 2 in front of me. Its pretty nasty.

I still wonder why people live in California/Florida ...
-
florida is awsome. the waves, the beach, the girls, the sun, ...it;s awsome. i love florida. we have a condo there but haven;t been to vist since the huricane. i miss it. we used to go every sumer for a week or two but it all stopped when all my shit came out. i loved packign up and going and i hated leaving.
-
I hate Florida, but I guess that's because I live in central florida, and the humidity is a bitch here.and, to wowhead, that's pretty scary.part of our tree landed on our house during a hurricane back when the three came, but luckily there was only roof damage. and my mom was sleeping right under it when it happened. =Shave there been any reported deaths? I hope not. the article I read didn't mention deaths, but yeah.
-
Florida is awesome, except when thery get bombarded with hurricanes every year, which is why I don't understand why people would still want to live there.
-
You didn't feel the effects of the storm, so obviously it never happened.
-
we whent from havign 40 degree weather yesterday to 70 degree weather today. loli would live all summer in florida and be in the waves everyday. lol i liked living on the coast. i miss skimming. my mom will never live near a ocean again. she;s had her fill of stupid huricaines. really me too but i just love the ocean / beach so much. i love the water... i miss it. all i have now is a small pound in our brood mare pasture.
-
I'm here in the big city, and it didn't seem that different from other heavy storms. Yeah it was raining heavily and there was a bit of wind, but nothing new. I guess it's really different depeneding on where in California people are at. Today (Sat.), no rain whatsoever. Just a light, gray sky.Hang in there, northern folks!

YEESH!! After the fires you guys literally have no time to recover... now you have to worry about landslides... I hope and pray that none of you have to face that problem... Best wishes to all of you out there in Cali!

ick. vegas.
-
eh it's all good. I would say I'd move to atlanta. but I wouldn't. I like it there, a lot. but I don't like overpopulation so much. and the fact that their water supply is only going to last so much longer.

OH SHUT UP!!! LOL
I'm up here near Redding...No power for 2 days, the substation for the tele went out yesterday, guess the generator finally ran out of fuel....
No snow, but winds that took tiles off the comp roof, and tomorrow, I guess I get to go hunting my trash cans, the kindling box, and what ever else the damned wind took off with.
It was literally sucking the fire right up my chimney pipe...
I wouldn't have minded except my kids are off visiting over near Ukiah, and I was stuck all alone for 17 hrs yesterday, and about 10 today without a phone, (I could text my man, but cell service is limited here).
THANK GOD, no snow for me!!!
This is ONE of the few times I am glad that I have a rental...someone else gets to fix the roof and can deal with the tree that is about to fall on the patio..
I cooked dinner IN the wood stove tonight, I haven't had to do that in oh, bout 3 years..lol. Suppose I could have BBQed, but where is the fun in that!?!?
So, me and my man had a nice romantic dinner by candle light (NO KIDS YAY!!!)and about 20 minutes after that we got our power back. Now, I am waiting on hot water and my laundry so I can get CLEAN again...Tax return=generator so the well will go, water was my biggest bitch besides the alone part. Loved the serenity though....

I'm in so cal. I think a couple days ago it was pretty windy. yesterday and today were fine though. northern california is getting hit hardest. just had a bit of rain, which is a good thing after those fires. don't remember last time it rained here. plus, I like rain, because we don't get it very often.

Wow PepsiChaser... you managed to find lots of positivity from this... but that could have been sarcasm! At least you guys didn't get any of the bull that came with Katrina... we lost power for 2-3 weeks... at least we had water and gas... but it was August, so it was pretty hot... thank god I had PLENTY of clean clothes before the power went out! I think there was only one instance that I rewore jeans...We also ended up having lots of those people come up to our area... they arrested people for stealing gas with a dentist's drill that they had stolen!! And we had evacuees in our church... they had a huge fuss because a loaf of bread went missing... a friggin' loaf of bread.Oh well... that's over with though!!

your storm hit me soon afterwards.destroyed a greenhouse I had half erected, the frame is fine the glass...about 3 grand in glass is destroyed, my brothers fence is GONE the church up the road has a flag pole bent to the ground and about 200 feet of solid vinyl fence fucking gone. power crews all over the town fixing poles and several trees (think in triple digits) down with roots sticking in the air 10 feet. 1 car I know of turned on its side, transformers blown off poles into teh road, wires hanging in peoples yards and streets, no street in the city doesnt have flashing lights on it at night. My mom had no power for about 28 hours and its fucking coldthis all hit us friday night from about noon till 5 am gusts over 100 mph and roads closed and then followed up with a fucking blizzard. Keep your fucking storm to yourself next time!currently theres 700 houses with out power in my town, and a few thousand state wide, plus the floods down south... a fucking mess. I spent yesterday digging out and helping some people cut up and take trees off thier cars and houses and fences. a horridly shitty weekend let me tell you.
