President Barack Obama?! Maybe Not.
-
Yup not the first time I heard that.I think I even read before where he admitted his family is Muslim, but he changed his religion years ago. So I don't think he's hiding too much, though if he is secretly still worshiping Alluh (and not saying he is!) I think that might cause him issues if people found out.
-
Don't believe everything you see on the internet.
-
but I believe in you!!
-
Lets say he is worshipping allah, so fucking what?we do have freedom of religion in this country, hes allowed to worship who and how he wants. How many christian enemies have the US fought? we didnt bow down and suport them, we fought them, god means nothing, a single god does nto make yyour enemies your friends, and we shouldnt be in the fucking middle east killing muslims to begin with, and there are muslims here in the US, they are citizens and imigrants, not an enemy just because they dont worship christ.what god a man worships should not be in consideration when it comes to who we vote for.
-
Oh don't get me wrong, I am not saying I would care... but, as we all know, there are many people who would. Sadly people associate muslims with terrorists, it's sickening people can be so narrow minded.
-
I didnt know if you cared or not, but it seemed like such a good part of the thread to stick that in to.It needed to be said and it will either give people reason to stop and think, or one more reason to hate me.Iv never recieved death threats on A2A before, but do regularly on myspace and some other online forums I belong to, maybe this will be the breaking point and I can include a2a as a source for my laughter over peopel threatening to kill me for my views.I have yet to decide who Id support and vote for, and really its who I agree with the most and nto who I disagree with the least.Currently Im thinking either Obama or Billary.Id honestly like to see Obama as president and Billary as the VEEP canidate on a single ticket.
-
While I've not decide who to support either, there is one concern I have about Obama's "change" agenda. It's a purely practical question, as I really don't know anything else about him, but how is he going to affect change? I honest don't believe anyone can learn how Washington works in a mere four years, especially when he's been running for President for a good bit of that time.
He may be able to pull it off, wholesale change that is, but I'm not sure someone who isn't intimately familiar with how the system works really will have the knowledge of how to go about changing it.
Don't know just my rambling thoughts.
-
Iv thougth about that myself alot the past few months as the races started up.the one thing I keep coming back to is who can make any change when they are so deep in? who can do it when they already owe so many people for where they are and all the ties they have to washington?Thats the big one that swings me towards abama, hes smart, hes crossing race lines and party lines and pulling in supporters. he doesnt have the same debt owed to lobbys and peopel in DC as anyone else does. Maybe he doesnt have the power to do it, maybe he does but I cant belive anyone thats been there for years and years sucking at the public tit can or would want any change let alone be able to do it.I dont see any choice outside of Obama in order to get any change at all.and I can gurantee Id not throw my hat in the ring with the business as usual bullshit crowd the republicans offer.
-
Scotty, thats one of the issues I am having with Obama right now as well. His lack of experience really worries me.
-
Well time to bring this thread to the top again as its super tuesday.I voted Obama, but was torn between him and Hillary.Id like to see the loser on the others ticket as the VP.I dont agree with all of obama or hillarys shit, especially the anti gun shit, but what good is a gun if you cant afford to own or have ammo for one? we are the most hated country in the world at present, and gas and oil are a bush legacy and at an all time high, not to mention that the industry reported the other day record breaking high profits for the year. Someone has to do something about it and a democrat is the only one who has a chance of winning, no independent that aligns more with my views has even a slight chance to pull it off.Due to this country's ass backwards observations I worry that even a major party candidate like the democrats cant pull it off and take us out from under a fucking republican shadow (Ill be fucked If Im gonna live in a country run by a nigger or a woman!),despite that other country's have been run by both women and people of several races, the redneck idiot assholes that make up the vast majority of this country cant see past the race and gender card.Now...since we are hours away from the results starting to come in, any predictions about the front runners from super tuesday?and as an added bonus I was nearly to the end of typing all that shit, my power went out for a minute, when the computer restarted it gave me the option to restore my lost tabs, and even the shit I had typed into the text field came back! I am now a dedicated fan of firefox for web browsing, even my old opera didnt do that for me.

From an outsiders point of view i really hope Obama wins, i think he has some decent ideas and would hopefully bring change to America's foreign policy which leaves a lot to be desired. As for him being assassinated, i think its a possibility... america for all its talk of muslim fanatics, has many of its own... i can see a lot of these extremists being very unhappy with a black president and its definetly not implausible they would try and take him out... hopefully not though, as you point out yourself such and act would have severe consequences

now theres something i actually have to wonder, could his lack of experience actually be something of a plus? maybe a little less exposure to the corruption? just a thought

When it comes to running a country I want as much experience as possible. But that's just me

"lack of experience" is one of those little expressions that can mean so many things. What does "lack of experience" mean to a collage graduate looking for his first proffessional job mean?what does it mean in the pollitical world? Generally, pollitical experience results in winning the race. He seems to be doing that. As far as experience goes, George W is woefully inexperienced when it comes to forgien pollicy and economics. And no one had the kind of experience with situations like 911.The experience that Bush had and maybe Obama doesn't is bending to special interest lobbies such as big oil and fundamentalist christians. That's a "lack of experience" in Obama's favor.

I voted for the fucker in the caucuses, and I will be voting for him in november. The reasons are several. If he doesnt pull it out and hillary ends up defeating him Ill be voting for her, but Obama is who I prefer to see sitting behind that desk in the oval office. He currently has JFKs speech writer who is credited for saving he world from nuclear war in 1962 in ihs corner, if he can pull that sort of influence he should atleats be considered. he volunteered, he sought out obama, obama did not go to him, he wasnt hired, he sees vision and dedication in him and volunteered. While I dont share identical views with obama on alot of subjects he is who I align with the most. Iv been told too many time I didnt have the right experience, or just not enough of it, it never stopped me from doing a better than adequate job on any project.
-
I'm talking about lack of experience in Politics in general. He's only been in politics for about 4 years, I just don't know if thats enough to run a country. It gives me great hesitation. Granted even with that said, if Hillary doesn't make it he's certainly my next choice. I have said it before I'd love to see them run together; one as president and the other as Vice.
-
The one with the most experience is McCain, is what you want more of the same as you had with bush? Its only feb and i already got a boner for november. I live the highest stress, and the most life every four years, Im a political junkie inspired by odd source to become active to begin with.I got into politics because of the maddened ramblings of Hunter S Thompson, another political junkie. Based on everything I know of hunter, he would of voted for him as well.

Right now I'm between Clinton and Obama, and the one I feel more comfortable with is Clinton. Her experience simply out weights Obama, plus I like her plan of action.Regardless it's a very close race. If it comes down to Obama winning, than he'll end up getting my vote. I personally hope it's Clinton though.

This whole election cycle scares the soup out of me. I am really trying to see the wisdom in electing someone as President of the United States - leader of the free frikkin world - who has little or no experience in any of the areas required to be an effective president? Attractive/articulate/inspiring...great...get a reality show.Seriously, can anyone please tell me one thing that Obama or Hillary has done that could convince me they can do the job. And I mean real accomplishments. Not "inspires people", "voted for this that or the other", "first woman...black man...whatever"?And this idea of voting for change for the sake of change. That's one of the scariest things at all. I'm all for saying "I don't like this specific thing and I think it needs to be done differently, maybe in a way that's not been done yet." But voting for someone just because you want something "different"...it's the President of the United States! Not homecoming court! That being said...I kind of like Obama. I think he's a decent man. We obviously differ on many issues, but my judgment is that he is a good man, has good character, and for the most part has a good heart. Good man? Yes. President? Hell no!But that's just me...
