Does anyone have any clue what a person would have to do to open their own daycare center? As in what kind of classes must be taken and what certifications you are required to have?

It depends on the state and exactly what it is. If it's just basically baby sitting most requirements to be met are health department concerns. If it has an educational goal then accredited early childhood teachers are needed at a given ratio to the number of children.
Not much help but that's all I know.

Well it wouldn't really a pre-school type setting or anything; more along the lines of a place parent's can drop the kiddos off for a couple of hours so they can go to work, out on a date, or just need a little time for themselves (so in other words – a babysitter lol).I mean I'm not bragging or anything, but I'm really great with kids and why not do something that could help not only myself financially, but parent's in need of a little help as well? I've always enjoyed working/playing with children, and I don't mind getting down on their level and having fun with them. I don't want to run it out of my home because I'd much prefer to rent a place that could comfortably accommodate a specific amount of kiddos (there are tons of rules and regulations you've got to follow to the tee or it just won't work).
