so i went into the clinic to get the bump checked out and the doctor looked at it. she told me its a wart but i shouldnt worry about it cause 1 out of 3 people get it. i then asked her what i should do and she told me just to leave it alone and itll go away. then i said so should i stay away from doing anything sexual with anyone and her response was "it doesnt even matter it wont do anything". im just so confused, so I guess i have genital warts? i even asked her if i should get a cream to get rid of it and she told me dont even bother either. Instead of her leaving me with an answer, she has just gotten me more confused. what should i dO? arent i going to get more warts?

So confused..about genital warts
-
She is an idiot.See another doctor and get it treated. You can spread it to others. Treatment is easy. This is assuming that it is HPV (Genital warts)http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm
-
maybe thats because its.... just a wart and not genital warts.
-
thats what i was thinking that it was just a wart..but then she told me to get alot of exercise and sleep and that it should go away. I set an appointment at another clinic
-
Even ordinary warts take five years to go away. But ordinary warts tend to be mainly on hands and feet. They would be extremely unlikely on a penis. I agree with sdp that the doctor is an idiot.
-
just a wart and not genital warts ALL warts are HPV and they can be treated.
-
also...she told me that i have jock itch. the skin on my penis and the head of my penis is dry and the skin on my penis is cracking, i hope this is jock itch and not herpes or whatsoever. or maybe its dry cause of the wart?
-
Warts and herpes do not cause those symptoms.

update: I went to a different health clinic today. they applied acetic acid on the "wart" that the other doctor claimed to be. after 15 minutes or so, the doctor at this health clinic told me that its not a wart because it didnt even absorb the acid. she also used the word benign during a conversation she was having with another doctor. im still somewhat confused, but relieved that they said its not a wart, should i get another opinion though?
-
Well what did they say it was? Did you even ask any questions?
-
"Benign" is a word that doctors use when they are discussing whether or not a wart could be cancerous. "Benign" means it is not. They can NOT say it is benign without cutting off a sample and testing it in the lab. If a doctor looks at a suspiciou area on your skin and tells you it's benign, then they are a medical fraud. You should get a lawyer, sue the doctor, collect malpractice money, and also go to a real doctor to get real medical testing.

"Benign" means a tumour will not metastasise - that is, spread to other parts of the body by cells breaking off into the bloodstream. This is how malignant (that is, not benign) cancers usually kill.A benign tumour can still be classified as a cancer, though the term is often reserved for deadly cancers only. There are a few tumours that can be seen to be benign by inspection, simply because tumours with that appearance are known to be always benign. Others need microscopic examination in a lab.Since tac24 only overheard the word "benign" used in a conversation between doctors, it can't be said he was told the lump is benign. The doctors may only have been discussing the possibility.
