So im not so sure if this is an addiction because it isnt like a craving, but its something i definitely rely on. I have had sleeping problems for as long as i can remember. If i do not take Tylenol PM at night i will literally stay up til 4-6am.Even when i take Tylenol PM i dont fall asleep til 2am or so. This has become a big problem for me. Ive been taking it for months and months and months now and i know it isnt good for my health to take that shit every night. And now its to the point where my tolerance is so high for it it barely works anymore. Last night i realized it wasnt working and i flipped out.I dont remember what its like to just fall asleep without a drug. I dont remember what its like to be tired without a pill making me think im tired. And i dont know what kind of sleeping problems i have but there obviously very serious. And it isnt like i do nothing all day and i have all this energy. I work in a restaurant all day. I then come home for a little bit and do homework, i then go to MMA practice for an hour and a half, then i come home do more HW etc eat and what not, then i just sit around all night fooling around on the computer til the Tylenol kicks in. I do enough in a day that would put most people in bed naturally by 11pm, but for me that isnt the case.Im not sure what to really do anymore. I dont have insurance or the money to go to a doctor and im afraid to kick the Tylenol, im have to get atleast some sleep at night so i can function throughout the day.

unfortunately you do have an addiction to tylenol... what your experiencing is called dependency, physically, meaning that your body requires the tylenol to fall asleep even though you dont feel that you require the tylenol.

I wouldn't really be too worried about being "addicted" to tylenol PM. While tylenol isn't especially good for the liver, as long as you keep within the recommended dosage, it shouldn't cause you much in the way of health problems. And if you want to cut out the risk of liver problems from the tylenol, take benadryl instead (that's what the "PM" in tylenol PM is).I WOULD, however, be worried about your sleeping problems. Lack of adequate sleep can cause a huge array of health problems, both mental and physical. Since you can't go to a doctor, here are some things you can do that should help with your insomnia:-Don't exercise or do anything particularly active within 2 hours of bedtime (bedtime meaning when you would ideally want to go to sleep)-Don't have any caffeine within 6 hours of bedtime-Don't watch TV or use the computer within an hour of bedtime-Don't use your bed for anything other than sleep (or sex)-Take a relaxing warm bath before bed, or do other relaxing things like meditation, deep breathing, etc.-Try to go to bed at the same time each night and try to wake up the same time each morning-Don't nap during the day-Don't drink alcohol within 4-6 hours of bedtime-Keep the temperature in your bedroom between 60 and 65 degrees-If, after lying down, you're still awake after 20 minutes or so, get up and get out of your room for about 20 minutes. Then try again.Collectively, these things are known as "sleep hygiene". Another thing you might want to consider is trying melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occuring hormone that basically tells your brain "hey, it's dark out; time to go to sleep". You can get it at just about any drug store and it's pretty cheap.hope this helps.
