Well i just had mine pulled yesterday and it was alot worse of a procedure then i expected. Basically i went in, waited lalala got called in and went back to get it done.So we start and they numb me with 12 shots or so, most of them didnt hurt except for the few that went really deep. That was fine. They start grinding and pulling and that was fine, only 2/4 hurt to get pulled out. So everything is said and done, im sewed up, have gauss in my mouth etc im good to go. I had my mom with me because i couldnt drive obviously, well this is where the bad experience starts. The car breaks down at the dentist. So im sitting in the car for about 45 minutes and its hot as hell and i was getting ready to take the gauss out.I couldnt talk btw so i had to communicate with my mom by paper and pen. Previous to taking out the gauss i had told my mom i was in pain, we werent able to get the vicodin yet because the car died. Anyway i take out the gauss and look at it and its covered in blood, so i went to get the new gauss and i started to get deathly ill all of a sudden. I started to feel sick like i had to throw up and i slowly started to black out. I started to lose hearing and everything and i would black out, then slowly come back then black out and slowly come back.At this point i was pounding on the side of the car to get my moms attention and she came to my window and asked what was wrong and i wrote on the paper "Blacking out" "Gonna throw up"So she goes and lets the dentist know and she comes back to get me and it was about a 60ft walk. Each step i blacked out more and more and i finally got to the dentist and i was starting to fall to the ground because i couldnt walk and everything was completly black, i grabbed him and wrapped my arms around him and all i could feel was him moving me to a chair. I get in the chair and i slowly start to come back and everyone in the office is looking at me.They proceded to get a rolly chair and roll me to the back. They give me water and have me just sit and wait til the tow truck gets there. From there everything was fine but man that was unexpected.I dont know what happened but as soon as i removed that gauss i started to black out. I was also sweating intensely once that whole thing started to happen. I dont know if it was a heat stroke, or loss of blood or what but it was scary.Has this ever happened to anyone else over teeth being pulled or any kind of surgery?

Wisdom Teeth

welll from a combination of experiance....1) taking gauss out can take the pressure off of the wounds and make them hurt immensely.2) Heat makes you sick as a dog, and makes pain alot worse...3) when something reallllly hurts, you may very well lose your sense of consiousness...Once i fell off my bike and had my hands completely ripped up with nearly quarter inch gashes, and they hurt so bad that i nearly threw up and basically couldnt see or hear for maybe 20 minutes.....soooo yeah, forgiving the grammar, it may just be the pain that made you black out, and may just be the heat as well as the pain that made you sick....no worries...

I've had one wisdom tooth out - under local anaesthetic, like you - and I went into shock almost immediately after. Going into shock is the body's natural reaction to serious injury - the blood pressure falls which reduces loss of blood. Some of us go into shock more easily than others, and I do it easily. The heat probably helped bring yours on.When you go into shock you do get sweats, and passing out is normal.

Well when i pulled ou the gauss there wasnt much pain but there as alot of blood im not sure if it freaked me out or not i dont tihnk it did. But it was extremely hit and i hadnt eaten anythin or drank all day that might have been it.I mean ive seen my blood before (obviously with my sport0 ive had it running down my face before etc and its never been a problem. I think it may have just been heat, dehydration, mixture of some pain, and idk...

as ineligible said, it may very well be the loss in blood pressure as well.

I think thats what happened. Im just not a good surgery person at all. Ive had problems after all of my surgerys. I got extremly sick after my hernia surgery also. I was supposed to be out in like 4 hours and i almost had to stay overnight.
