When did I claim I was an expert? You know what I'm done with this board. I know why Helmsmann left. Peace.

Proof God Exists

I think he was just trolling. (I hope so, anyway...)

LMAO! When the heat gets too hot, he leaves the kitchen! So much for being ready argue. I don't get why people leave in a huff like that.

Quote:This is an incredibly offensive statement.Well, maybe not 'incredibly' offensive, but I agree. Though, admittedly, some of the atheist arguments I've heard tick me off just as much.Ineligible(@ your response to me), thank you for clearing this up.

LOL! How so?
I love that show, but Reese is more of the type of person who settles arguments with his fists.
-
Lol, oh Rad, I love ya! I didn't noticed until you pointed that out.
-
That's it? Saw something you didn't like and decided to head for the hills? There's really no point in debating if you can't keep your head. Toughen up.
-
Which atheist arguments tick you off?I find atheist to be oftentimes rude.

I think he means when cooldawg said... Originally Posted By: cooldawg2Why can't atheists just believe in God? That rubbed me the wrong way as well. I am of the opinion Atheism is just as much a belief as religion. There is no proof one way or another. To strictly say there is no God is equal to strictly say there is.With the new world of Physics, where they have mathematical proof of multiple dimensions that can be manipulated by other dimensions, where some places in the universe may have more or less dimensions than we can perceive, it isn't impossible to think that a "God" may be a being from another dimension, as if we were to consciously manipulate a 2D world. With no proof one way or another, but mathematical possibilities, no matter how small, that to decide to be atheist is just as much a "Faith" based premise as to believe in God.
-
What would you call agnosticism then?Atheism is not a belief the same as belief in God is. Those who believe in God make an affirmative statement. They are then logically obligated to support the statement. That is true whether it's a claim about God's existence, or Thor's, or Martians'. So while it's not logical to deny something about which you have no evidence at all, it's not the same thing as believing fully in something for which there is no evidence. (Look up the difference between epistemology and ontology.)In other words, there may be a colony of Martians living a Moon crater, but the probability is vanishingly small. Likewise, the probability of the existence of God. For many folks, it's not worth worrying about.By the way, the idea of higher dimensions so far is a mathematical concept; there is no proof that there are more than three spatial dimensions in the physical world. In any case, what would be the physical representation of the square root of negative 1?

Hmm, I seem to be a little late. The OP has disappeared. Fuck it, I'll throw in a little enlightenment anyway!Springs have been known to exist under water for a very long time. How? Because some of them can be seen! They lie in the bottom of lakes as well as seas and oceans. Some of them are very deep like in the Pacific, but some are very shallow like at the West Thumb basin in Yellowstone Park. Its not a massive leap to assume that if they're under the water in one place then they're probably under the water in other places. But the whole translation issue is much larger than people like to accept. Just go to BibleGateway.com, you can look up passages in 20 different versions of the Christian Bible. And those are just the ones in English! Mistranslations are frequent and sometimes inevitable. The Christian Bible is not the only book to suffer from this, an example being given by yourself. The Qur'an is believed by many people, often to fatal consequence, that martyrs will receive 72 black-eyed virgins upon reaching heaven. Scholarly studies of texts discovered only in the last 30 years, which are dated back to within a century of the life of Muhammad, seem to indicate that wha

Now THAT'S absurd!
I agree...but whatever is currently popular certainly seems to always get a lot of mileage here on this board, regardless of the subject. I guess there are those that follow and those that actually stop and think for themselves. Atheism is pretty popular these days. :eyes:

I thought it was quite amusing that someone who has just recently read the bible for the first time, has now become a missionary, trying to provide proof of Gods existence (which has yet to be accomplished by anyone in this world) and wants to convert atheists on an internet forum. He was doomed from the get go.

lol i know right?i just read this whole thread. and i lost count of the amount of times i laughed. honestly. sigh

Yes he was...but I find that fact sad rather than amusing.
