Ok so I've been diagnosed with Infectious Mononucleosis(Glandular Fever, Mono etc) and well... my boyfriend is adamant when he says he's never had it before and couldn't have given it to me. I haven't kissed or shared any drinks or eating utensils with anyone else. Is there some other way to contract the disease?

I have...Mono
-
If anyone with mono, touched something you touched, and you got that in your mouth (say a doorknob to a handburger) you could get it. I think my doctor and I narrowed it down that I got it from chewing on my nails without washing my hands often enough.

Just because it's called the kissing diesease doesnt mean you can just get it from kissing. Its mainly spread through saliva.. like sharing a drink/straw/toothbrush.. etc. Please be careful.. and get treated properly.. Mono can be extremely dangerous.

You should get it treated because that really is bad,my daughter contracted it mildly because she was always eating things of the floor and licking her hands.(We were lucky cuz it was`nt so bad and she is ok now)You should be more careful and get this mono treated properly.

The younger you have mono, the less severe it's symptoms. My doc told me when I had it, statistically over 90% of people have already had it, and most never knew it because they were so young, it just seemed like a bad flu.

All I know is I wish I had it as a bad flu, I was bed ridden for 2 months when I was 17...

All's good. Turns out it was a mild case and I'm fine now YAY

Thank god! Im glad you're ok!
