not necessarily in THIS thread. in the other ones theres been preaching.

I'm speechless from this video

Quote:I mean what about all those sexually related cases where these children would get molested and stuff in the churches. is THAT being a good christian?Going to church doesn't make you a "good Christian". Not every church is a good place to go. I'm fortunate that I actually go to a good church. I know people who were raped, beaten, and abandoned and their only sanctuary was church. We're used to getting crack addicts and gang bangers in our church. Makes us know we're doing something right. Those who are rejected by society actually have a place to stay. Quote:its not US being really that sensitive here. we just dont want to get preached at every chance you guys can get about how being a "believer" will make us a better person.I don't recall anyone preaching to you? I may be wrong but who done it!
-
nope, noones been preaching directly to me, but ive been reading these threads and they're ridiculous. i keep my mouth shut the majority of the time with them.
-
Ok so you're saying you are a Christian? Quote:I do "know" God .... as a mere human can. Then you kinda don't. Quote:Do you?Definitely. Quote:You are showing the childishness I was talking about earlier. You will feel so foolish a few years from now, if you'll just save these posts and refer to them later. And you're proving what I was speaking about before. Assuming you do believe and have a relationship with God I can honestly tell you that I do know God. More than that but I have encountered Him many times. It is because of those encounters why my life has changed dramatically. Being with God is more than just creator and creation. There's a reason why He's referred to as God the Father. You're trying to make it seem as though I'm being childish just because I asked you if you know God? I don't know how strong your relationship is with Him let alone if you have one. I can't judge you based on that. But I have a slight feeling you don't if you can't even acknowledge and believe His effect on His children and the connection they have. Quote:"Fake" is not imitation. This imitation is pretending in a service to be truly led by the Holy Spirit, when they, in fact, are not.Wow. You must know these people personally to draw such a conclusion, am I right?
-
I understand and I usually do too because I've already been "trained" so to speak by SteveA and bob! lol they helped me though... though you can't really compare the two because they're incredibly different. But they did help straighten me out about certain things. But there's only so much you can take. In all honesty, I do get offended when people say something about God. He's my Daddy and I'm very overprotective of Him. The video really did touch me and I cried just having the realization of it and then people instead of saying wow that's was nice. No need to believe it but just to say that was sweet or something. They just go... "I don't buy it." or "It was scripted." seriously? you can't just let it be not even once? The simplest thing. One little kid telling what's on his mind and people just... I'm not going to stress myself out over it. I have work tomorrow and bills need to be paid! stupid Con Ed.

Quote: No, Christians AREN'T like that! It's not that Christians aren't like that, it's that people are(read:can be). assholes are everywhere, they're not all of a certain faith, or lack thereof.

wow Rad... wow. I attacked? My fists were behind my back the whole time!Good night, onpai.

Quote:
When some people try to talk morals to others without believing in God and haven't read the Bible, that offends me very much. Because that right there is hypocrisy, which I don't like at all.
excuse me? want to explain this a little better? thats EXTREMELY offensive.
so if i havent read the bible, i have no right to talk morals? you have got to be joking.
-
Maybe you're just a little too persistent with the adult imitating a child thing in the clip. I don't think it's an adult.
-
But you're saying that someone who doesn't believe in God can't be a moral person? Come on AW.. that's just plain stupid.
-
he didn't say you he said "that" meaning what you said.
-
Well AW it is.. You're saying it in plain English that a non-believer CANT be a moral person.. Maybe you should ask your pastor about that thought, becasue you obviously haven't thought about it. Saying things like that make you look bad.. and dumb.. sorry but it's the truth.
-
Quote:And for the last time, stop arguing with me. you cant tell me what to do. are you THAT conceited about your religion that you cant handle ANY criticism and doubt at all? I said the EXACT same thing as sdp did, and yet you apologize to him, but yet tell me off? =/
-
Gotta check your emotions before you type (or speak for that matter). That applies of everyone and any subject.
-
You didn't offend me, but it's obvious you didn't realize what you were saying.
You can have a believer or a non-believer be moral or immoral.. it really isn't black & white.
-
agreed.
-
Step back before you write. After you write it reread it a couple of times before you hit submit. Thats what i do.

faith is a funny thing aint it?I love the intimations that christians don't lie or are totally above shameless self-promotionI also really dig this perception that adults don't know children. Quote: although possibly scripted as most of anything is. it delivers a very strong messegeoh, and now it no longer matters whether or not the tape is a fake, it's just the message that counts. This reminds me of something... oh yeah, the (naw, never mind, I'm not going to say it out lound)

Anyway, back to earlier arguments in this thread:I don't see why people don't think that this is a 13 year old kid. We must be getting dumber from generation to generation if kids can't be like this. I've got cousins 5 and 7 years old who speak 2 languages fluently (soon to be 3) and the other knows basic algebra. I have a 10 year old cousin who isn't academic in his smarts but he says things that my 18 year old friends aren't wise enough to figure out. He'll probably be deeper (wiser, if you will) than this kid when he's 13. Maybe it's just my family, but this doesn't sound too unbelievable. If you've ever seen Jesus Camp, you've seen kids younger than 13 talking like he was about God and Christianity. Granted, the whole documentary could have been scripted. There are talented voice actors/actresses out there and whether or not this is one, I can't say. They either are a very talented adult or a genuine kid. This video features Logan, but he doesn't sound very much like he does when he called into the radio show. Quote:This particular piece lacks ums and ers. Both speakers seem very sure of what to say. It doesn't feel like a real conversation. Also, the style is too reflective for a child, and it is turned into a moral too neatly.Maybe it's because I'm not that old, but 13 doesn't seem like an age to still be considered a "child." It's closer to adolescence, which is a time when people become more reflective and maturity starts to show whether it's being polite or growing in Christ. As for the radio host, of course he's sure of what to say. I don't know about you, but 90% of the time I have found radio hosts to be very confident in what they say and respond with. It's their job, they're good at it. It's likely that he would have known what to say to this adolescent, even though I don't find his comments to be anything amazing like I've usually heard from most radio hosts. Quote:It's a Christian program, do you really think us Christians would do such things as faking voices? No, Christians AREN'T like that!Who said it had to be a Christian? That call-in number is out in the open, available to anyone who wants to call it.

I think its a very nice story and gives a good message. But the first thing i thought was FAKE! Maybe im just a skeptic because 90% of the internet is fake, but the whole thing sounded very fake to me.Maybe it wasnt, and if it wasnt that kid is very grown up for his age, and sounds like a good kid.
