i recently moved to a capital of my province. Before i was living 20 mins away from it in a smaller town. and i used to have a job at the local mcdonalds and i had that for 2 years. and when i worked i worked hard as hell and bought anything i wanted. i saved some too but now my parents keep bitching about how much i made that year and i didn't save to much..So since i moved im starting fresh. but i donno i have this fear i cannot just walk into anywhere asking for a resume. Im 17 but i look like im 12 and im only 5'4. and its bugging me alot cause i need a job badly and the local futureshop rejected me twice already and the reason i was able to apply there was cause it was online...but all the jobs around here don't have online apps.I need to get on my feet and get one but i just need some help on how i can just walk in there and ask for app and handing it in is a totally different story.. its just as hard for me

Parents and getting a job.

Would it help if you got a friend to tag along with you, at least to get the forms?Your McDonald's experience should help - you should get a reference from them that you can use in your applications.

They can't discriminate against appearance. I mean if you were just a limbless torso they would probably be less likely to hire you. They can only judge you based on the papers not appearance. If it says you are 17 they can't say "Well he looks 12 so we're not hiring him." And having a friend to tag along will certainly help.

You didn't say how you liked working at McDonald's. But it seems to me that that might be a good place to get a job where you are now. McD's always seems to be looking for good people, and you must be good at working there if you did it for two years. I would think a McD's in your new area might be very, very happy to have someone with your experience and work ethic.
Good Luck!!!!!

Did things even get as far as the interview stage?
