Hello. Just a little while ago I felt a bump on my scrotum, just below the base of my penis. It looks a bit like a pimple but I'm really not sure. Are pimples in the scrotum/penis area common? Can anyone help me here? I'm a little worried.

A question.

Well it could be a couple of things. -Sebaceous glands. Which usually are white painless bumps that can appear. They usually appear at the base of the penis and are in no way contagious. -Ingrown hair. -Or it is a zit. It wouldn't be very common though for a zit to appear there but it certainly could happen. Is it painful to touch? Or is it completely pain-free?

It's kind of painful to touch or when there's any kind of movement in that area. So, would any of those things be a serious threat to my health?
-
It's not either of your testicles right? And is it underneath the skin or on a bump on the skin?
-
No, it's not directly on the testicle. It's above, on the scrotum, just below the base of the penis. It's a bump on the skin, and looks/feels like a painful pimple.

I'm gonna say that it's definitely an ingrown hair or a pimple. Either isn't really too bad. Most ingrown hairs work their way out or you can try to get it out by running a face cloth under hot water and then holding on the bump for a couple minutes. That way it will either ease the hair out or if it's a pimple make it feel better and make it easier to pop.
I wouldn't advise popping it, I would just hold a really warm face cloth up to it a couple times a day and try and get it to work its way out.
Just curious but do you shave?
-
No, I don't shave.Thank you for the help. I'm glad that it's likely not too serious.
