Okay guys I have a interesting little issue, and I admit its kind of embarrassing lol.A little over a week ago I woke up with my tailbone hurting and feeling bruised. Now the night before I went out with some friends drinking and dancing. I did get pretty tipsy but not even close to the extent that I would fall down and not remember; I remember the night completely. Now that night Adam and I did have some pretty intense sex, but it was nothing like beating each other or anything crazy like that lol.Now over a week later my tailbone still hurts and feels bruised. It hurts when I go to sit down or stand. My tailbone did not hurt until the morning after I went out drinking/dancing. Any clue what I might have done? Only thing that makes even remote sense to me is the sex, but though it was pretty intense I don’t think it was intense enough to bruise my tailbone..?? Also do you think it’s something to be worried about? Should I go to the doctor and have it checked out or give it more time? I tried looking in the mirror to see if I can see a visible bruise, but it’s a rather hard angle to look at in the mirror LOL. Never experienced anything like this so a bit lost on what to do lol.Like I said this is an “interesting” issue lol.

Bruised Tailbone

OMG Eddie! I broke my ass too! I even made a thread here about it a few months ago. Anyway, what I learned is, it doesn't really take much to bruise your tailbone. I was working out and stretching only like 2 inches from the ground when I hurt mine. The doctor said I must have bumped it 'just right'. I waited two weeks before I went to the doctor, but I couldn't stand the pain anymore being as I sit most of the time at work. She said there is really nothing they can do. The doc gave me some Naproxen which helped alot. I hurt myself back in March I think, and my ass is still not 100% better. It's not nearly as painful, but if I sit for awhile it gets pretty sore. Also, my nurse friends tell me it can take up to a year to fully heal.

Hmm well if your absolutely positive you didnt get drunk and fall while you were dancing it must have been the sex lol.As far as what to do, ive bruised my tailbone before and i never went to the doctor, i just let it heal on its own. Dont do anything to aggravate it, dont do any sports, or activities that would aggravate it....ie sex If you are really in a ton of pain though and feel it needs to be looked at then by al means go to the doctor, but if its minor pain and doesnt feel too serious try just letting it heal on its own and see how you feel in a week or two.

Don't forget to tell everyone that while having sex you broke your coccyx.

I'd die from embarrassment LoLAnd yeah I asked Adam and my sister last night to make sure and they both said I never fell that night.Well I'll give it another week and see how it feels. Hopefully it starts to feel better, though I'm sure my doctor would get a kick out of the story lol.

Could be one of those Piliodal Cysts.

oh thats right! my niece had a cyst on her tailbone once, she had to have something done to it and it hurt her like a bitch, so yeah that would be something to look for

If you did break your coccyx, there's nothing a doc can do a bout it. Give it time to heal, lay off he activities if you know what I mean, and try to get a doughnut to sit on. Besides that it cannot be put into a cast or bandaged up.

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie... That's all I can say. Well that and tail bones take a long time to heal and are easy to re-injure until they're healed, or so I've been told.

LoL.. what? I'm an angel, don't you see my halo?? eheheI really hope it's just bruised, though still not sure how it happened lol. Oy...I'll give it until next week and if it's not feeling better by than I'll make a Doctors appointment to have it checked out.

Tailbone Injury Causes Most coccyx injuries are caused by direct trauma to the tailbone area. -A fall onto the tailbone in the seated position, usually against a hard surface, is the most common cause of coccyx injuries. -A direct blow to the tailbone, such as those that occur during contact sports, can injure the coccyx. -The coccyx can be injured or fractured during childbirth. -Repetitive straining or friction against the coccyx (as happens in bicycling or rowing) can injure the coccyx. -Sometimes, the cause of coccyx injuries is unknown. -Less common causes of coccyx discomfort include bone spurs, compression of nerve roots or injuries to other parts of the spine, local infections, and tumors.Hmmmmm... Your unique, your injury isn't on the list. Way to go above and beyond! Prevention Most coccyx injuries are accidental (such as a slip on ice) and therefore cannot be entirely avoided. Wear proper protective padding when participating in contact sports that can potentially lead to coccyx injuries.PROPER PROTECTIVE PADDING Medical shit taken from emedicalhealth.com
