Hurricane Ike

So are you gonna evacuate or try and ride it out. Oklahoma has already declared a state of emergency to handle all the evacuees.
-
Ugh, sadly we are staying, and I don't know why, I'm in Houston, so I'm pretty close to where it's supposed to be hitting...
-
Don't just disappear and leave us hangin'. Let us know your okay, after it passes.

I don't know. But I have to go to work now, I know right?Later guys, I'll keep you posted.

We should be... Theyre predicting 58 inches of rain and 60-80 mPS sustained wind gusts. I'm sure there will be a few tornados twisting their way thru too somewhere...
But we should be fine. Thanks for asking
-
58 inches of rain Are you sure about that??????I'm sure you mean 5 to 8 inches.
-
According to my step-dad we are not in a flood prone area, but he says it will likely flood everywhere...I'm safe so far, the storm isn't here yet, still sunny outside. XDAnd I have to go to work in 2 hours... Wtf.No real updates yet... I'll be safe, I used to be a boyscout. Omg. XD
-
I don't have a good feeling about this.Do you need money that bad?Are your co-workers going to work?
-
y, I was all ready for work, then my manager called and told me not to come in, so I'm a little more comfortable now.Mm... Yeah, we will be getting ALOT of rain, we're only like, 20 miles west of the eye, so... I think it will flood a bit, you know? The wind is picking up now, Imma go out there in a bit and see how strong it gets... Kinda interesting the way weather works.
-
I know this sounds weird, but you've been on my mind all day long. Im so glad you're okay.

GALVESTON, Texas - The outer bands of Hurricane Ike, a 600-mile-wide monster that was gathering strength over the Gulf of Mexico, neared the Texas coast Friday evening, bringing 60-mph wind gusts and a massive storm surge that was destroying homes many hours before the main event was to begin. Officials in Galveston, the storm’s apparent bull’s-eye, said as many as 40 percent of the city’s 58,000 residents ignored a mandatory evacuation order, leaving tens of thousands of people vulnerable to a storm that Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff called “potentially catastrophic. “This certainly falls in the category of pretty much a worst-case scenario,” he said. I just read this... What are these people thinking? I can understand remaining in certain inland areas.. but in this island/peninsula? Idiots!

Err... Yes?Uhm, so we're just egtting some bands of the hurrican, like, not the huge ones, but I can tell by the way they are formed that they're following the hurricane, the eye shouldn't be over us by like, 1-3am tonight, knowing me I'll be awake. So, if there is any sudden danger I'm sure I would be able to alert everybody in the house.Hrm, it's so nice outside, the wind is really picking up, and the colours of the clouds are to die for, like neon blues and pinks and orange... With the contrast of heavy rain clouds. It's awesome, I'm so excited! Which is prolly really odd.
