Hey Guys!Alright...so I've been having this problem for a while now and I'm hoping to get some help! I've been having trouble urinating for a while now. What's the trouble? Well I used to have the "jet stream" piss. Pulled back the foreskin (a bit...I'd been having trouble with foreskin retraction but that's coming up) and let er rip and I would be done. But for the longest time now (can't really put a time period to it, maybe over a year) it's not the same. Whenever I go to the washroom (and I feel like I REALLY have to go) I whip it out and...stand there for what feels like eternity. Seriously it takes almost 15-20seconds before it flows out (and I've tried different things like "squeezing/pushing (clenching butt cheeks, sometimes it hurts)" or just standing there. I've tried it with foreskin pulled back all the way, or foreskin in place, or in between). Finally after 15-20 seconds of waiting it'll trickle out. Trickle for 2 seconds and then dribble. Trickle then dribble. Sometimes when I've been able to have it really stream out, it doesn't come out as one, but 2 streams out of the head, top one the "major one" and the bottom one just dribbles (makes aiming HELL). I've come a long way with the foreskin stretching, from it hurting like hell to get over the head, to me being able to stretch it all the way back. I've been applying a steroid cream to help.If you have any questions for clarification I'd be glad to answer them...I was really embarassed by this at first, but now I realize I need help. Thanks!

Trouble Urinating

cOULD BE A PROSTATE ISSUE.. yOU SHOULD TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT IT. DAMN CAPS...
-
I agree. It sounds like you an enlarged prostate. I Go have it checked
-
hahhahahaa cAPS lOCK!After reading what Roc said I looked up the symptoms and I swear each one is something I can relate to...To be honest, I am NOT looking forward to having a finger up the rear, but I guess I'm going to have to grin and bear it, especially because I want to get to the bottom of this. Thanks for your help so far!

It actually wasn't bad. I was given a pill and mine has shrunk. I'm not back to where I was when I was younger, but I can give any 25 year old a run for his money when pissing at the urnial. It's nice to have presure again and best of all... no more standing there letting it drip drip drip drip drip anddrip...Go have it checked out. You didn't say how old you were .. Mind if I ask?
-
Hey Roc,I don't mind telling you! Age is one of the reasons I was embarrased about this problem. I'm 19...and judging by the lack of sites targeting young adults for this problem I'm thinking it isn't that common...is it?Thanks!
-
No Your right dude. it's not that common at 19 to have those kinds of problems... I suggest you have it checked out. You could also have a kidney stone that is slowing the stream and presure.. That was what my doctor told me... Nonetheless, Man, take a few hours and have it checked out....Let us know what they find out..

I most definitely will have this checked out. I pulled out my family doctors card and am calling tomorrow.
I would most likely need to see a Urologist right? Should I do a consult with the Family Doctor first? or just ask for a referral?
I'll post back what I find out!
Thanks for your help so far!

I suggest going to your primary family doctor first and let him refer you out to the urologist if it's needed.......

Hell...
LOL
Maybe it was one of those worm things that can swim up into your urethra. I forgot what they were called... -

Hey Guys! Here's a bit of an update. I visited my doctor today and told her everything. She was concerned with the symptoms and agreed that this wasn't normal for someone my age. She gave me a referral for a urologist and sent me to have an ultrasound/x-ray. The x-ray was to test for another condition, one in which the nerves controlling the bloodflow to the pelvic area are compressed (can't remember the name; it's supposed to be rare). That's my update! Thanks for your help so far!

Thanks for the update! Keep us posted.

Hey Guys!Another update. I made a visit to the urologist today and explained the problem. He did a physical checkup (no finger!) under the hood and said he wants to do a cystoscopy to check that there are no blockages. OH WOW. I was not expecting that. He could tell that I was getting nervous when he was explaining it to me but assured me that it was for 3minutes and I could go on for the rest of my day after that. But still...the thought of it........shudderI'm going for an ultrasound next week and I'm hoping that might give some insight as well. My x-rays came back negative.Cheers and Thanks for your support!

Update! My ultrasound results came back and apparently they're positive...I'm going in to have a cystoscopy tomorrow...was freaking out over the thought of it but I have come to terms on it and I realize that it needs to be done! I'll be sure to share every painstaking detail for all A2A readers! haha!Talk to you all tomorrow!Cheers!

Chin up my friend...We're all thinking of you and you are in our prayers. Good luck and let us know what they found.

I hope it can all get easily fixed!

Turns out there is an easy fix!Went in for the cystoscopy procedure today! Let me explain my journey. Drive to the hospital, park, walk in, find the bloody patient administration desk, register, go and take a seat. Go meet someone to get a card made, then go to 3rd floor. Follow confusing signage to the cystoscopy department. Sit there. After 20 mins have a nurse come and take my papers. Go and change into a hospital gown. Sit there for 30 minutes in a gown. Finally get taken in!I went into the room and my doctor was there! Wasn't really expecting him, I thought it would be some guy who just works for the dept to do the test. So I got up onto the table and he starts to clean "the region" down under. He retracted the foreskin and started to clean with watered gauze. OH MAN! It felt so weird to have some guy prod your penis, I started flinching because, hey lets face it, it's a sensitive area! He told me some ways in which to relax: Breathing helped!Next he explained that he would be putting a local anesthetic in the tip of the penis to help numb the pain. It wasn't a needle, but just a syringe without the needle, He put it in and while he was doing that: no pain. I was watching the screen while he was trying to get a hold of the camera, then I saw it surging into my penis...no pain! The only time I "YELPED!" was when they started to put water into my urethra in order to help expand it so that they could get a good look. Everything was normal and before you know it he had it out. The only time I felt anything was that little bit of pressure! In the end his diagnosis was the types of foods/liquids I consume. He told me to stop eating spices for a while and also to stop caffeine (I stopped this a while ago, after the problem started, it was giving me major problems urinating). So I'm going to take his advice and test it out. At the same time I'm going to take up Yoga. Sounds weird right? I noticed over the last weeks that I carry a lot of stress in my pelvic region. By stress I mean the fact that I often find myself "squeezing" even when I don't have to go. I've talked to some professionals regarding it and they say that it's a sign of stress. I'm hoping that as I try relaxing, it will help in the problem!Thank you to everyone for all their support while I went through this! Rick you've been a great friend and supporter and your advice helped me get through this!Cheers!
