Tell who they favor in the elections?Just a little rant: I know I'm a Christian and everything but I am so pissed with these biased "Christians" who practically worship Republicans because evidently most Republicans are Christians?? What the fudge? If McCain said he was going to exterminate every hispanic in America they'd still love and adore him because he's 3 of their favorite things 1) a Republican, 2) "Christian", and 3) white. I'm sorry but that is so messed up and they're pissing me off and they are so brainwashed and oblivious and racist. I swear if I hear one more bubble-headed idiot say "I don't want no terrorist muslim running my country" one more time I'm going to crack.

Are teachers allowed to do this?
-
Obama isn't a Muslim. But, remember, its called a democracy for a reason, and they are entitled to their opinion. No matter how racist, we can't change their ideals.Edit: Completely forgot about the question. No, they are not allowed to tell who they are going to vote for. I've seen teachers get fired because parents get really pissed off. And really, teachers should never get involved in politics, it alienates students.
-
Anyone is allowed to give their political opinion, though it would be improper for a teacher to expect the same opinions from his/her students - a teacher should respect students' rights to have different opinions.
It does seem your teachers are not very intelligent, if they think Obama is a Muslim.

Teachers should not do that, its truely disgusting. Happened to me yesterday actualy, albeit with the bizarre twist that it was about the US elections and we're living in the UK! My sociology teacher (or sociolist propagandist more like) dicided to end the lesson with us watching two videos attacking the Republican party in ways that have absolutely nothing to do with our lesson; and they werent even clever videos, just pathetic cartoons filled with child-like stereotyping. It was in no way the time or place.

Since when is not wanting someone who is nothing like a real PRESIDENT that I would want but has taken some GREAT public speaking classes to be the US president being racist? It has nothing to do with his color. Had McCain these same liberally ridiculous opinions, it would have nothing to do with the fact that he, like me, is white and Christian and republican; I still would not vote for someone who didn't share at least MOST of my beliefs, REGARDLESS of race. While I am a Christian I'm tired of the conservative ridiculousness, as well. We need a center of balance, a happy medium without all of the bashing of the other side. We need someone who really will invoke CHANGE, as Obama so eloquently preaches, instead of someone who has served office already in another position and has done next to NOTHING!

He was replying to what I meant in my original post.

Unless someone asks the teacher, they are not allowed to say anything like what you've described. See if there's a vice principal or principal that you can talk to about it. And if that doesn't help, I bet there is someone outside of the school that you could report this to. District or even completely outside of the school system.
