On the rare occassions where I actually do have a bowel movement, my anus seems to always split. It's uncomfortable for a second, it bleeds, then just seems to become itchy as it heals. It's been going on for about 6 months and it's happened so regularly that it's caused a nasty looking white scar. I also keep getting vertical splits (definately not scratches) where my labia meet above my clitoris. They're usually 1-2 inches long and very frustrating, especially during sex when they're being rubbed on. Do you think these two things could be connected? Any ideas what they could be?

I keep splitting

I think you should see a doctor about this. Cracking skin can be caused by a fungal infection, but sometimes it indicates a problem with collagen. It's certainly not normal for this to happen.

Just so were clear... Do you have two different things going on your concerned about?I have reread this several times and it sounds like you have an issue that pertains to your anus and one that pertains to your vulva. Is this correct?
-
from what i gather, both areas are splitting and shes wondering if its two seperate causes or if its caused by the same thing
-
Spot on =) Both seem to be healing pretty well again. I've been horribly constipated lately so I guess that's giving my bum time to heal but I know it's inevitable once it gets going again, it's going to split worse than if I was going regularly. Would a cream like Canesten work if it were a fungal infection?
-
Yes it would.
-
what id ask also is if that stuff will do anything bad if theres NOT a fungal infection,
-
Antifungal creams are very safe, fortunately.
-
well alrighty then that works
