Battles and bets seem like a good start. The more public, the better.

You know what? Walking the wall of China begins with a single step. You've taken yours, you've decided to stick to a plan. Good. Now..As you know yourself, it's all good and easy to say you're going to do something but the actual execution is never quite that easy. I'm in a situation like yours right now, except where you have a 14-week plan, mine is a 10 month one (in my second month now!). What I do to keep motivated is constantly remind myself exactly what it is that I want to achieve. Try visualisisng yourself with this new addition to your belly, imagine how good it's gonna feel, how completely worth the fourteen weeks it is! Because it totally and completely is! Just motivate yourself to do it right the first time around, having to go back and do something from scratch is a waste of time and a complete pain in the neck. So go for it! If your struggling write in, we'll pump you right back up!“The secret of success is constancy of purpose.”-Benjamin Disraeli smiles

My only tip is this: Do not miss a day when you are supposed to work out. It only makes it harder to go the next day. No matter how tired you are, or how little you feel like going to the gym; get up and go! If you miss a day, it's only going to be harder the next time.
