Are evil!I'm 16 and for like 7 years now i've been cutting my nails to short so i didn't see any white part but i just realized why for the past 3 years my big toes on both corners feel HORRIBLY painful whenever they touch anything or when they get the slightest bump.Goin' to the docta tomorrow to see what i can do since warm water+Epsom Salt hasn't helped lately.Worst part is i couldn't see it until now and now there is some brownish/redish colored stuff slowly overlapping the pink portion of my toes. Does anyone know what that is??

Ingrown toenails

I've cut my toenails to short a few times. It's best to just let them grow out, as painful as it is. Perhaps put some polysporyn (sp?) on your toes to help the healing process.

with decent quality, curved nail scissors, you can trim and shape the edges so that they don't grow into the skin. But if it is a cronic problem, there is great value is seeing a sheropadist regularily. It may sound a bit odd to seek a medical professional to cut your nails but my dad had a cronic problem that plagued him for decades until he started going to a sheropadist.

I feel you're pain. I hada bad ingrown toenail a few years back, i had to go to the doctor and have it removed. What they did was numb my foot, cut off like 1/3rd of my nail (the part where the nail is growing into the skin) and then they burn you're toe with some chemical to stop the bleeding. It did not hurt one bit to have it done, and it was so worth it!
The discharge stuff is normal, good luck i hope they remove it for you, you wont be sorry!
