Can you use regular stairs for it? How many calories would be lost if you did it for 30 or 60 minutes? If you just walk up and down the stairs over and over does that also work? If I did an hour of it every 2 days could I lose weight? All answers are appreciated. I just want to lose a decent amount of weight and look good for University which I probably will be going to in about 9 months and I'm really confused on this stuff.

If you wana lose some weight and look good, then follow a diet along with exercises, it gives better results when its a combo. You could do jogging, cycling or even dance--its a fun way to loose some calories. How many calories you burn actually depends on your metabolic rate. You can try these links to calculate different exercises:http://www.health24.com/dietnfood/tools/stepCalc.htmhttp://www.health24.com/dietnfood/tools/burnometer.aspIf you need info on diet I can give you some simple tips to follow.

As for your links, thank you very much for them. Do you have a calculator for finding out how many calories I need a day? Thanks for everything so far, Saya :D.

Going on a diet doesnt mean you need to starve yourself or even that you should completely stop eating something. The tips I follow regularly are so simple:drink 8 glasses of water/daycut down on fats/oils and sugars.....like using a less amount of oil (dont use butter) during cooking and drinking unsweetened juice.cut down on starchy foods.....rice, potato.use whole wheat breads for sandwiches and toastsuse skimmed milk and yogurt instead of full fat onesuse lean meats, chicken/turkey breast fillets.go with egg-whites and better avoid yolks.use less dressing on salads (dressing made with yogurt tastes great)avoid junk food or if you cant avoid then atleast consume lesseat more vegetables and fresh fruits.Avoid foods that are very salty.Read the labels of packaged foods before you buy it, avoid foods that contain transfat, high amounts of sugar or salt. These steps actually cut down around 500-1000 calories per day.
