Hey peoples this is probably pretty weird. I might fly home for christmas for like a week or something. I just want make sure your alowed to take like vibrators and stuff on airplanes. I dont want to be in the airport and the securty people take it out of my bag and be like you cant this on the plane.

Airplanes and toys
-
well, i would imagine that you could, although they'd still have to check it to make sure its not a bomb, but i'd think you'd be able to. its not like its a weapon, or the aforementioned bomb...
-
List of prohibited items on planes in the US.Vibrators don't get a mention (but I wonder if they are covered by 'tools', which can only be in carry-on baggage if seven inches or less in length).I note the special mention and restrictions on those fiendish weapons, snow globes.
-
well those snow globes could really hurt if they're thrown at you!
-
When I travel.....I avoid keeping toys and stuff in any of my cabbin baggage..... I never really carry any cabbin baggage except my laptop and my purse (which contains things that are important and things I need). My flights are often long, got to wait for hours until my next transit flight
-
well don't they check cargo luggage too?
-
They do, but less thoroughly: because you can't get at checked-in baggage during flight, they are really only worried about bombs in it, not ordinary weapons, so the rules are less restrictive and usually they just have explosive-detecting dogs sniffing at it.
-
Yep....they do in US. So I think what I said wont apply to others :frowning: well security kinda differs from country to country.
-
oh, it thought they checked them all via xray, well, you learn something new everyday, ya?
-
They might in some airports that are particularly security-conscious; but in any case the rules are less strict. In the US you can carry knives and guns in your checked-in baggage, no problem (well, guns have to packed properly and declared).
-
true, true, just was never really sure what the faa was up to *shifty eyes*
-
Be advised that all checked baggage in The US is inspected by the TSA. Depending upon the airport you fly from, bags may be xrayed, sniffed, even opened for visual inspection. If your bag is opened, the inspector is supposed to leave a paper informing you of that.I don't suppose that there's anything an experienced inspector hasn't seen, including a vibrator.

omg that would be way embaresing if they took it out and measured it were like you cant take this its over 7 inches. When i fly I like to keep the stuff i need with me not check it, thats all im saying about that. But I dont know maybe i will check it.Well do you think its safe to have them xray it. i dont want it to be all glowing in the dark and shit. Well that would be cool but it seems like it would be dangersous. Thanks everyone. I dont know for sure what im doing yet but if i do fly i will let yall know what happens(unless its like super embarsing) lol
-
It would be quite safe for it to be x-rayed. X-rays don't leave any radiation.
-
Quote:When i fly I like to keep the stuff i need with me not check it, thats all im saying about that Carry-on luggage is examined more carefully than checked luggage. You're much more likely to have a TSA agent ask you to open your bag (after it's been through Xray and all the agents in the vicinity can see what's in it) than if it were checked. And, if it's checked, you won't be there during the inspection to see their reaction to what you might have packed.Don't stress about this, as long as you have nothing illegal. I'm sure they've seen everything.
-
ull be fine. they have seen them many many times before.

thanks so much everyone. I dont really need to worry about it now, i think we are going to drvie. flying is crazy expensive but thanks for all your help
