Okay, so my roommate had his pre-solo check ride today (pilot thing) and he passed on the first time. Only about half of the students here actually pass the first time and I was not in that half. Now, what pisses me off is that my roommate has failed every flight lesson that he has had and I have passed every flight lesson that I have had. He has also had to do a flight with the head flight instructor here (out of approximately 100 instructors-it's a big deal) because he was doing so poorly. My instructor is as strict as both of the Designated Pilot Examiners that I had check rides with and I still failed my first check ride! My roommate shouldn't even be flying; everyone says so. He's one of the worst drivers on the planet, too. What's even worse is that he is continuing to rub it in my face and he's one of those people that will continue to rub it in regardless of what I or anyone else says to him. Sorry, just venting.

I'd feel the same!

People are turds go fart on his pillow when he isn't home.

Don't waste time being bitter about. Just stand proudly in the knowledge that you will always be a better pilot than he is, and will probably have a much better professional reputation.

Unfortunately, failing a check ride can hurt your chances of getting a job. Failing flight lessons doesn't come into play when being considered for a job. However, he is the type of person that likes to say stupid things based on no facts to people so he is going to have a very difficult time getting a job. As will I.
