Okay, so lately I've noticed that I've got a few bumps on my penis, around the "rim". Also, on one side, there's an area that looks kind of chafed or "chewed up". There's no pain or discomfort associated with these. I'm wondering, could something like this be the result of my girlfriend's overly-eager attempts at dry handjobs? Or maybe irritation from not cleaning up after sex? Something else? I don't honestly know how long they've been there, but a few months at most. Anyone have any ideas?

Bumps on Penis
-
Welcome to A2A, Zippy31. It's hard to know, because penises tend to be bumpy normally. There are vein valves, circumcision tunnels, sebaceous glands, pearly penile papules, all of which can cause bumps. How big are the bumps, and what colour? Does the area that seems chafed feel rough?
-
They're maybe 2-3 mm across and smooth, resembling whitehead pimples. The "chafed" area seems kind of "notty". There are only a few of the bumps, maybe three on one side of the head and then maybe a couple around the "notty" area on the other side. Also, I noticed something that looks like a kind of an irregular ring of white skin maybe 5 mm across on the bottom of my penis. I say ring, because it's a roughly oblong white ring with normal-looking skin in the middle, almost kind of like a burn blister that's popped. Again, no itchiness or discomfort of any kind is associated with these.

Bumps around the rim make me think of pearly penile papules, which are quite normal.A ring of different colour makes one think of ringworm, a fungal disease, but the colour seems wrong. This may need a doctor to look at it.

I took a pic and posted it at http://stashbox.org/421312/Penis.jpgIt's not great, but you can definitely see the bumps and the white ring-like structures. It almost looks like scar tissue of some sort. Any ideas?

Certainly not pearly penile papules. It looks like some sort of skin infection to me, but not one I've seen before. Definitely something to show a doctor.

So it doesn't really resemble an STD?

It doesn't look like any of the usual STDs to me, but it doesn't look nice. There's a time when you've got to forget your inhibitions and go to a doctor.
