Hello everyone, long time no see I'm actually in Australia now. That's why I haven't been around much lately. First I was working a lot to make the money to come, then I moved here, and now I'm going to Uni here, so My plate's been full for quite a while.I can't guarantee I'll be back often either (sorry). I do love everyone though -----Anyway, I have a bit of a medical problem here. I understand that it's Summer here down under, but in the evenings here in Canberra, it's been around 24 C (75 F) and average humidity. I can be outside, and feel comfortable, inside and feel comfortable. But about 30 minutes before I'm ready to go to sleep, I get this overall hot feeling, and start to sweat. It's the feeling you get when it's cold, and you've been drinking, and you just feel hot all over.Well, it isn't so pleasant sober, I've discovered. I'm not sure what to do. It's making it particularly hard to sleep. I wake up constantly, and the dampness is really bothersome. Additionally, it's a bit gross, and the GF stays over a lot. Luckily, it doesn't bother her because, well, whatever you know?I'll try to do a bit of a run down, if I can, of my last couple weeks.I moved to Australia about 3 weeks ago now. It's summer here, around 85-90 F in the day time, and about 60-70 F in the early mornings. In the day time, I'm fine. In the Evenings at around 75 C I'm fine. I'll retire to my bedroom, and do a bit of studying, etc. Unnoticably, I'll become hot, and a bit sweaty. (nasty right?). It'll get worse as I get closer to "bedtime" point. I'll lay down and just feel grimy and hot. Even when the GF isn't there, I'm just way over heated. It'll feel like it's 90 degrees when the room is only 75.When I was at home, I'd be in my room and it'd be 90 degrees, and it'd feel 75. I dunno what's happened, but I am really losing sleep over it. It's beginning to affect my coursework.Ideas?Sorry so long.

Night Sweats?

Do you have a window open at night to give a bit of air circulation? You'll find as it gets into March that the nights will get cooler and you may well find the problem goes away soon.A further thought - you're not in a multi-storey place with underfloor heating, by any chance? In those, when the person above switches on his heating, your ceiling gets hot and the top of the room gets hot, which is particularly unpleasant.
-
I keep the window open, and the heating is off at the moment. I'm hoping it goes away as it gets cooler.

I live in a tropical climate........well my opinion is you get a fan or an a/c to cool off or preferably wear less clothes when you sleep or dont wear anything at all

I'm thinking of getting a fan, but I already sleep in boxers.

It seems to have been going away. Now I wake up with sore throats. Ugh, it must just be my body trying to adjust to the Australian Climate. Too hot, then too cold. All well, It'll level out. Thanks for the help anyway. Much appreciated, once again.

Canberra has a climate all its own. It will get quite cold in winter.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. And as for the sore throats, that might be helped with humidifier. If you have an a/c in your room, it'll be cool, but the air will be dry. That happens to me a lot, b/c i sleep with my door closed, and the furnace pulls the moisture out. That'll be better in a couple weeks, though.

Same here buddy. too hot and humid...or...too cold and wet.
