You guys know I'm turning 18 next month.. MUAHAHAHAIt's a bittersweet moment because... I have many more freedoms at 18 but then again I lose my excuse to say no to 40 year old pimps on every corner of the Bronx.Considering my birthday is the Saturday before Spring Break. I MYSELF have plans to go visit my baby boo for an entire week that would be fun. My mom, crazy aunties, and cousins are practically bribing me to go down to Brazil instead and go meet "mi amo de vida" I would actually go if it weren't for the fact they were trying to set me up with a dude twice my age.Anyway, since most of you are older, do you remember turning 18? What was it like? Did you feel any different or no?

18 =)

I felt no different from being 17 to 18 to 19 to 20 and so forth.I never understood what was the big deal turning 16, 18, or 21.Yeah, I'm a bitter old fart.

When I turned 18..........I celebrated my b'day on hospital bed.........I had broken a lot of stuff at home and hurt myself too.........cos an old bitch had murdered my 10 month old baby, Tomas-my cat.......my mom had buried him and didnt tell me where he was or what happened to him even when I was searching every where with his food bowl in hand to feed him his meal. A day to remember forever........I got 46 stitches on my arms and legs where there were numerous deep cuts with glass pieces sticking through.......my dress totally covered in my own blood........and I went into a stupor after that......how many days I was in that state.........I dont know exactly maybe a week or so I think.Ugh.......not a good memory 16th b'day was worse than that I hate remembering my b'days .Anyway I hope you will have a great b'day and enjoy yourself

Abi, you can still say no to the pimps. You don't need any excuse (or indeed any reason).
I think you should choose your own partner. No ordinary man is going to be a match for you.
Eighteen didn't make any significant difference for me. The difference that was important was a practical one, a few years later, when I was able to live independently.

How terrible, Saya. It seems you've had a life so far which has included a lot of unhappiness.

Awwww Abi is getting all grown up Well happy early birthday cutie incase I miss it

but I am still doing fine Pete :smile:
To Japan OP--please avoid pimps........you are worthy of a much better life than that and be careful around such people sweetheart. Choose a path in your life that will bring you lots of happiness and a nice person who loves you a lot and takes good care of you. :smile:

do you remember turning 18? I had a sprained ankle. What was it like? when I was 18 I was like 5’10” and still looked 15. Other than that no major difference.Did you feel any different or no? I’m 20 and I still feel no difference. I only look different. It is a good thing, I think.

Thanks guys. I'm really sorry about that Saya. That sucks. My 13th birthday was the most momentous cause I went to Florida. 16th birthday sucked though. I can't wait to turn 18 though just because I get to go see my boo =)I'm not too anxious to go to college because we'll be separated =( but as much as I love my mom and brother.... I can't wait to get the HECK AWAY FROM THEM.
