Pain after a prolonged erection
-
Where is the pain, and how long were you erect for?
There are two different effects I can think of:
1. When you are erect, there is no blood circulation through your penis. There is a lot of blood there, but after about four hours the blood starts running out of oxygen for the tissues, which causes pain in your penis.
2. If you are aroused for some time without the release of orgasm, the build-up of tension and fluids can cause a pain usually felt as in the testicles, 'blue balls'.
-
A while but not longer than an hour...the pain only happens afterwards - for a while after finishing the first time, if it starts to get erect again then there's pain.
-
Is the pain in your penis?
-
yes
-
I wouldn't think so, but maybe too much blood? Kind of like the whole ED medication side effect, since it constricts blood vessels?"If you have an erection lasting longer than 4 hours...blah blah."Or maybe blood pressure? Or a headache like thing/being upside down for to long?

YOU SAID: Is the pain in your penis? Yes.It could be, testicular torsion. Meaning, the vessels inside could be getting strangled, and/or twisted. This can happen for unknown reasons, and usually does. Or, it could be a hernia, with referred ( pain starting in one place and ending in a different place ) pain to and in your penis. But only your Doctor will know for sure. Go get it checked out, I am positive the Doc has heard of this before. Hernia's and torsions are quite common in men, actually.Good luck, let us know, Mia

I don't think it'd be testicular torsion. When this happens, you have roughly six hours before the testes don't receive enough oxygen, and die. Then they turn black. If he still has his testes, then I don't think it's torsion.
However, it could be a hernia. There's also that. Have you been to the doc yet saywhat? -
I didn't, but it hasn't come back yet and I don't want to go to the doctor if I don't have to
-
We did have someone here who lost a testicle after several days of only moderate pain, rather than the usual severe pain of torsion with very rapid effects, so persistent pain in the testicles should always be treated seriously, and it's clear things don't always follow the textbook. However, I haven't heard of testicular torsion causing pain in the penis instead.

Not always as definitive as that LMC. It can still be torsion, and not cause total atrophy. In any case, a doc can know for sure, what do we know?
If it were me, and the pain was still there, I'd go to the doc.
Better to be safe than sorry. Owie!Cheers,

I get that same thing. Its only sore if you get another erection right?
-
Yeah, exactly.
-
'Ave you made it to the doctor yet, mate?
