Ok so about a week ago I started getting this weird rash on my sack right below where it connects to the shaft and a little to the left. It's all red and it's been there for a week now. I dont think there were ever any bumps or blisters but I could have missed them. Anyways, its all red and it hurts when anything rubs against it. Its kinda shiny and looks like open sores sometimes especially after a shower. At first I figured it was just a rash cuz its in an area where theres a lot of sweat and chafing, but rashes dont usually last a week do they??? Now i'm thinking back to the last time I had unprotected sex which was a about 4-5 months ago, could it be herpes? I'm really nervous now because of the duration of the rash and how its red and shiny and it can be painful when touched. Do you think its probable that its herpes or are there other skin conditions that would be similar to this like jock itch? Should I just let it go and see what happens? Basically I just want to know the likelyhood that it's herpes because that is what I DON'T want.P.S. It's getting better than it was a few days ago.

Herpes!?

Go see a doctor if you are so worried! It seems like it would be a little too painful to be a rash! The only person that could help you is a doctor.
-
Ok, I think I made it sound more painful than it really is because its completely painless unless I touch or rub it significantly and even then the pain isnt terrible. And also the reason I haven't seen a doctor is because I'm 18 and living at home with my family until the end of the summer and I'm too afraid to go see the family doctor, call me pathetic if you'd like. I just want some other opinions of what it could be. Cuz isn't it kind of uncommon to get herpes sores on your sack (normally it's on your dick i'd imagine.)
-
Why would it be uncommon, if you balls rub against the vaginal area drring intercourse.
-
Anyways why would you be afraid to go see your doctor? What if you're worring for no reason? Or if you do hve them wouldn't you want to get on medication to supress them.

One I dont have my own medical insurance I'm on my parents plan and two it still would cost a lot of money and I'm in college how would I pay for it. My parents would disown me if it turned out to be herpes.

Don't most (at least larger) colleges have their own clinics?

My parents would disown me if it turned out to be herpes. Go to a local clinic then, they are cheap or free and I guarantee your parent wouldn't disown you, they would probably do anything they could do to help you. So stop making excuse and to something about it!

Shit I'm feeling kind of wheeze after searching google for some answers for you, anyway look up pictures there and you can probably help yourself detirmine.

Yeah I've been looking but its pretty hard to find pictures/descriptions that match what I have, the closest things I find are fungal/yeast infections and herpes. The pictures of herpes are always on the penis and are of bumps/blisters clustered together which look nothing like what I have. What I have is on the sack and never appeared to have any kind of bumps or blisters on it, also it is spread out over about a square inch or more of skin and not just a small clustered area. I'm hoping it is some time of fungal or yeast infection. It seems like it could be herpes from the way it looks but then again I havent been sexually active for almost 5 months and the girl I had sex with back then said she got tested and didnt have anything (although I dont know if i can take her word on it.) Maybe I got it from oral sex? But then again my nuts were never in contact with her mouth so that seems unlikely... I suppose its possible for an outbreak to appear several months after exposure but I read that its uncommon.Anyways, thanks alot for all the help and I suppose that I should just go get checked out but like I said i'm only 18, I dont even pay my own bills yet. Thanks anyways!

I think it may well be a fungal infection. If it is, you can easily buy anti-fungal creams over the counter. Make sure you keep using it for two weeks after it appears to clear up.
-
I'm glad to hear you feel that way! :sunglasses: Also, on the chance that it WERE fungal, would it stay there indefinately until I treated it with an anti-fungal cream? Or would it eventually go away on its own?
-
Fungal infections are notoriously persistent, so you really would want to treat it.

In reply to:its all red and it hurts when anything rubs against it. Its kinda shiny and looks like open sores sometimes you need to get this checked. your description is exactly what one of my herpes outbreaks looks like. i hope it is fungal, but please get it checked asap, like while it's still there so they can do a swab. if you live in any decent sized city, there should be a free or low cost clinic. is there a planned parenthood in your area? call them and ask where you can get anonymously tested for free/cheap.good luck to you
