Oh get your panties untwisted...From what I read (Granted it was rather quick as I am kind of busy today at work) it sounds like they want to bill private insurance companies, not the veterans themselves. Also sounds like any out of pocket expenses (like deductibles etc) will be reimbursed. There are some concerns that I think are valid like increase in insurance premiums, etc. But right now I don't think there is too much to get so worked up over until something more concrete is evident.

If the Government is going to send a soldier out for service and is injured, then the Gov't should cover it.. Non-service related issues... sure.. private insurance should cover it.

It's such a bizzarre story that I had to try to find more info.So now, I see some of the reasoning behind the concept but I must fully agree that it's not right. But really, we know the way insurance companies work. They string injury claims out as long as possible through the loop-hole game. They also deny coverage to people based on risk assessement so it's possible that no soldier could even get insurance in the future. And really, with all the fucking money America has thrown at this bullshit war, $540 million to care for vetrans seems like pocket change.Nope, this one doesn't make sense. All I can say is that I honestly suspect that this proposal will never become more than that, a proposal.
