I've been doing some reading up on salvia and read that it has a fair amount of anti-depressive properties and people use it to self medicate. I'm considering using it to lighten my depression a little bit but I'm not so interested in "getting high". To be honest, I'm too embarrassed of making a tit out of myself while I'm tripping. So is there a way to maximise the anti-depressive effects but minimise the highs? Like, instead of having a hit of x20 every 24 hours or so, would having x5 a few times a day help or would it just not do much at all that way? Would it be better to go for a x20 and just find a field near my house instead so I'm not embarrassed? The walk would probably do me good anyway. I know, it would be easier to go to the doctors but I'm not too hot on them right now. I'm sick of not being taken seriously. Plus I really need an immediate pick-me-up rather than a "maybe 6 months down the line you might feel a bit better". Oh yeah, and it's perfectly legal where I come from =)

I really think you are better off smoking weed than you are smoking Salvia. Ive seen many friends have fucked up trips on salvia, most people never want to do it again after they do it once. Now i understand your not looking to get fucked up and you would only be doing x5, but i still wouldnt mess with salvia at all. You shouldnt resort to any drug to cure your depression. Your best bet is seeking medical advice from a doctor, i know thats not what you want to hear but thats what you should do.

NOT a good route. Stay clear of the drugs.. even the use of marijuana.. After using it for awhile the effects of happiness can subside and depression can kick right back in. Salvia gives you an out of body experience. People have thought they were being eatten by a couch during use. Not a good one to try!!
Seek help from a professional. Tell your doctor you would be interested in some natural remedies.

Whoever says it has antidepressant properties is probably a certified nutjob! One 'experience' on it and you too will say "whoa. holy hell. no thanks."It's more likely to cause more harm than good. I'm not saying this because I'm a run-of-the-mill anti-drugs person (cos I'm not!) but because I know the dangers of salvia and know how much it can screw some people up.The people who do like salvia will do it maybe as much as twice in a month for the self-discovery, but these people are very much at comfort with themselves..Just by reducing the dose, you won't really do much. Salvia is more of a "breakthrough" drug, in you either get nothing, or trip complete balls.Salvia has a habit of taking all of your personal demons, making them seem very, very real for about 5 minutes, and then leaving you to clean up the mess afterwards.Plus it tastes bloody awful.
