Hi guys, how long does sperm survive outside the body after ejaculation? After investing heavily in condoms, my partner have found one that works well between us. My questions is because i ejaculated once and i disposed the condom and wiped up a majority of my penis with a tissue. Around half an hour later we were quite in heat again so we decide to go at it. My missus was stroking my penis before putting the condom and lube on. Then we were at it. I pulled out after 5 minutes realising she touched my penis before putting the lube and condom on. My penis was dry at that point, im scared that the lube reconstituted my semen again. Is that possible?

Sperm survival outside body

Sperm die pretty quickly on really dry surfaces, but the surface of the skin is not very dry. It's conceivable that a few sperm might have survived, then survived the lube (which is not a congenial environment for sperm), got on your partner's hand, then back on the condom; but it must be very few indeed, and chances of pregnancy would be miniscule.

Hi ineligible! Here is some admittedly self-experimentation that I have done on my own ejaculate with my microscope. I masturbated onto a piece of clean glass moving my "aim" between each spurt so that they would all be separate. I then let it all sit for about 20 minutes until all of my semen liquified and turned more clear, then I made microscope slides from each "spurt" and looked at them under my microcope. What I found was that my very first spurt (and actually the drops that landed the fartest, or got shot out the hardest) were ABSOLUTELY LOADED WITH SPERM! They were swimming all over the place! But in the last two spurts (I had five spurts of collectible cum in total) I could hardly find any sperm at all!So now looking at my Biology notes, I know that the actual sperm collects in the seminal vesicles. It looks to me like thse vesicles dump the actual sperm into the urethra FIRST and then all the fluid from the prostate comes along and flushes out all the pipes! So I think anyone who practices "pulling out on time" has to be REALLY careful that that very first squirt totally lands OUTSIDE the girl. That shot has the majority of the "good stuff". The rest of it, and the stuff left on this guy's dick, probably is much lower in sperm count to begin with.

You have the makings of a great scientist, Scott. You designed your experiment well, obviously went to a lot of trouble to carry it out carefully, recorded it carefully, and drew useful conclusions.
Now you just need to publish in a proper scientific journal of record.

WOW thats a nice "self experimentation" you did!!

Scott,Hopefully those who think they can consistantly avoid pregnancy with the "pull-out" method read the results of your experiment. As you have demonstrated, the first shot is the most potent. The pull out method is not a method of contraception, but rather a type of Russian roulette.
