I have respect for innocent people...Not people who pay 13 year old boys 23 million dollars to stay quiet.. Or people who say sharing a bed with a little boy is a "beautiful thing"He was taken to court with 10 counts, including child molestation, extortion, child abduction, false imprisonment and giving a minor an intoxicating agent. Good people dont do things like that.. no matter how famous you are.Famous or not.. child molestors are scum of the earth. They dont go to heaven.

Right, I'm not talking to anyone in particular with this, but I hope you all take it in to consideration.A lot of people loved Michael Jackson and his music, and think he was an inspiration. Whatever the f*ck you think he did, whatever controversy was surrounding him, there are a HELL of a lot of people who didn't believe it. Yeah, I am one of those people - I grew up with his music, grew up loving him, and I thought he was fantastic. So I'll ask you all kindly, FOR ONCE, to leave out the shit!Yeah, a lot of other people died today. Make a thread about them if you want to!

Though Mike and Farrah were entertainers in there own right, for my money, nothing could be Ed drunk on the couch trying to talk to Johnny. Now that's entertainment.

Quote:Good people dont do things like that.. no matter how famous you are That’s absolutely laughable. Money makes people do horrible things. Every day there are lawsuits being thrown against good people. Being a good person does not stop people from being greedy, if anything it’s the good people that get taken advantage of the most. Quote: Not people who pay 13 year old boys 23 million dollars to stay quiet.. It has nothing to do with keeping him quiet; everything was already out of the bag when MJ settled that case. He settled the case just to get it over with. At the time $23 million was a drop in the hat for MJ. Many celebrities settle out of court to avoid lengthy court cases. As for the second case that was brought against him, it was completely ridiculous. They kept changing their stories, the mother admitted Medicaid fraud and insurance fraud, which makes her credibility basically zero. Not to mention all the other crap during the case. In all honesty I think people wanted to convicted him, but there was just no proof of any of the allegations against him. Because MJ was more than a bit off it made him an easy target for lawsuits.I guess what I am annoyed with still are people who are willing to accept anything the media feeds them, without following the story themselves. They hear that “Wacko Jacko” supposedly molested a boy but instead of following the case themselves they take it as truth right off the bat. And what’s funny I think I remember in the second trial when they brought in the boy from the first trial the boy couldn’t remember anything and the things he did say were nothing close to what he admitted to in 1993. I’m sorry but if I was molested and was part of a high profile case I think I would remember at least something from the incident.Anyways I got on a bit of a tangent. MJ was an inspiration to a lot of artists and he truly shaped pop-culture to what it is today. He was always quoted as a loving and devoted father to his children. Not many people know this but he didn’t have nannies, he raised and took care of his children himself from changing their diapers to feeding them to reading to them. His children lost the only parent they knew and my heart truly goes out to them. I just hope he can find peace now, something he never seemed to be able to find in life.

Thank you Eddie.I agree totally.

I think no matter how weird MJ was or wether he really abused children, when somebody dies one shouldn't rejoice over it.

I would take the huge out of court settlements as an admission of guilt. Why do you think MJ is innocent yet believe that OJ isn't?Yeah, Jackson was a pop icon. But that's ALL. No messiah, not a hero. It always amuses me when a star dies and such a huge sit is made about it. I'm not even sure how the ratio of importance works. The 2 other celebrity deaths this week are swept under the MJ carpet. Sure Mike had a major influence on pop music but does that make him that important? Was there this much fuss made over the death of Simon Wiesenthal?

Quote:I would take the huge out of court settlements as an admission of guilt. I personally don't think it was an admission of guilt but instead he just wanted it to go away. I cannot say I wouldn't have done the same if I had the means. But that also goes the other way... if he was truly guilty why would a parent take the money instead of prosecuting further so the man who molested your child would be put away (Not to mention they probably would have gotten even more money)? No amount of money would be enough for me; anyone who molested my child would be put away.Another reason I doubt he molested any child is because only two people came forward (many years apart from each other) of the thousands of children he was around all the time. You'd think once one person came forward, more would come forward (especially once one person got $23 million!), which just never happened. In one of the trials (though I cannot remember which one) one of the child's therapist came forward and stated that in one of their sessions he admitted he was lying about the molestation. In my opinion there is just too much reasonable doubt from both cases. And as I have said before, yes the man was odd. I am not going to argue that fact, how could anyone?? He lived an odd life from the time he was 5 years old. The perfect way I have seen him described was a “man-child”. He never grew up because he never had the chance to be a child, so he lived through the children he helped. Again I just hope he can find the peace that he never seemed to be able to find in life. Quote: Why do you think MJ is innocent yet believe that OJ isn't? In a short answer, there was more than enough evidence that showed he was guilty and to this day, like many others, I will never understand how he was found innocent. Weird part after it was all over and the jury was interviewed, they all pretty much said they felt he was guilty… it’s amazing.I am also sad about the other two deaths this week as well. I grew up watching Star Search, so Ed was a part of my life as I was growing up.Though I cannot say Farrah had as much of an impact on my life, I will say she was an amazing woman who had incredible strength. She's an inspiration to everyone fighting cancer or any other disease. As for MJ's death being more important and all others being swept under the rug, I am not so sure about that. I think it's just the fact his death was so sudden and unexpected that it took the world by surprise.

don't underestimate the power of the almighty buck or the willingness of asshole parents to pimp out their own child. It's also not lost on me that rich people can be both unjust targets as well as have the resources to get away with more than the average man.
Not meaning this a a personal affront but I have to think your judgement on both MJ and OJ are based on you liking one and not the other.
I grew up with Ed on the tonight show I miss the duo.

Honestly when the whole OJ thing happened, I really didn't know who he was (was never one for sports). But like all major cases I watch the trials and make my own decision. In the end I thought there were mounts of evidence to support he was guilty and I remember watching the verdict in school and being complete shocked when they said innocent. When it came to MJ, I was honestly unsure what to think. This was an artist whose music I grew up on and idolized. He actually almost lost me as a fan because I almost let the media pull me in on the hype that he was a child molester. But again I followed both cases and both really had no merit, especially the second case!! Again I still use the logic of no other kids coming forward and the parents taking the money instead of prosecuting, though you raise a valid point about the power of money and how some parents have no issues “pimping out” their kids. I just don’t feel this was the case.I just think a lot of people put their trust in the media and when the media says something they believe it. People need to do their own research or in this case follow the case itself to make your own judgment. In this country its no longer innocent until proven guilty... its now guilty upon the word of the media.

Sadly, this is all too true.
The man is dead...leave him in peace if you can't say anything good about him.

No fucking way.FOr you Thor...Farrah hits heavens door and god says you can have one wish, she says I want all the children of the world to be safe! so god killed micheal jackson.Mcdonalds is paying tribute to Jackson by offering the McMJits 50 year old meat stuffed in a 8 year old bunResults of the autopsy are in, it was not cardiac arrest, it was food poisoning, he died after eating some 12 year old nuts.Seeing as how Mikey was made of mostly plastic, his body is being melted down and recycled. He will be made into legos so that little boys can play with him for a change.rim shot please!Thank you thank you, fuck mike, thank you

I said it once and I'll say it again: hardcore Michael Jackson fans scare the shit out of me and make me really wonder.People are still camping outside his home. I mean, come on! If any of these people respect him as much as they say they do, then have the decency to stay away from his home and let the family mourn in peace. Go back to work people.Soon the autopsy results are coming and I swear, we're only seeing just the beginning. All hell is breaking loose! Folks being interviewed say he was in perfect health so his sudden death is a shock. I find that hard to swallow.

Just because michael is famous and viewed as a saint and a legend doesnt mean i have to respect him. I dont think anyone in their right mind should respect a child molester.. a grown man having sex with childen!!!!

(Not directed at anyone particular, but a general statement for the most part)Sorry but Show me proof or shush it…Sorry just tired of hearing people babble at the mouth spewing the ignorance the media has forced down there throats but have no more evidence than the prosecutors had who couldn't win the case either. You don’t have to respect the man to respect the fact he is dead and leave it at peace.Don't like me MJ? That's more than fine by me… but to slander him name with absolutely no proof other than the idea that's built in your head just shows peoples true nature. The man is dead, be happy or sad about it, but to voice ignorance and rejoice in his death I find to be absolutely disgusting. Regardless of what you think of the man, he has parents, children and siblings. Now imagine someone you loved died and have the same thing said about him or her… how would that make you feel? Point being, people need to grow up.On that note I am done.(And before anyone says anything… I am an MJ fan, but I’m certainly not a hardcore fan. I just find it disgusting how people can be so callous and heartless to rejoice in someone else’s death. )

More famous dead people Billy Mays.Billy woke up dead in his home after receiving a nasty bump on the head when something fell out of an overhead bin of the airline he was riding on the previous day. The room was reported to be spotless. OxyClean will be employed to clean the sheets where he was found. But wait there's more, the fate of his popular new Discovery series Pitchmen that he co-hosted is now in question. That was in incredibly poor taste, wasn't it. All I can say is rest in peace Billy... and why couldn't it have been the Shamwow guy with the hooker problems.
