Hi, ive been on the forums before becuase i had some redness on my penis. Well i went to a doctor, who thot it was prob a fungal infection, gave me perscription, which i must say is really expensive (all mediacla creams are), and it only got worse. So i went to a dermatologist whotold me that it was probably just sexual irritation from masturbation since i have really sensitive skin due to allergies and he perscribed me 1% hyrochloric cream or w/e its called. It worked a lil in the beginning and he told me to ahve no sexual activity for a week and it should go away along wtih the cream. I followed this, and it got a lil better but as soon as i masturbate again it comes back red, lil bumpy, and dark red on rim of the penis, as well as redness/ imflamation on the penis hole ( sorry i know thats not the medical term but i cant think of it). THis has been going on for months now. ANd i dont mean to sound like i dont have self control but i cant go the rest of my life without sexual activity.... is this just a condition i have to live with? A red penis? It doesnt hurt or itch or anything, just red and kinda bumpy. Im really sick of how much money i am having to spend on creams and dermatologists just for this issue to continue. Does anyone have a similar situation or advice to this situation?

Just really frustrated

I agree with Rad. Doctors can make wrong claims all the time, and mis-diagnose things, or give the wrong treatment/prognosis/etc.If there's no discomfort, itching, swelling (normal aside), etc., then I wouldn't think there's much cause for concern. Esp. when prescriptions are involved, that are that expensive.Maybe, just try hydro-cortisone cream, like that anti-itch variety that you can get at pharmacies like Walgreen's or CVS?

it doesnt look like an ormal red.....From pictures on the internet it looks like "balnitis" but when i asked the dermatologist he was just like, "balanit is is an extremely braod term, it just means you have a penis rash." The dermatologist said it didnt look like any kind of STD. And it is kinda swelling around the urethra opening, thats where its the most red. My head looks kinda dry, but that could also be from all these creams im putting out. idk what to do, ive read on the internet that sexual irritation can take months to heal so im guessing tis just that but its really having a negative effect on me because to be just down right hoenst- its a pretty depressing thing as a guy when your piece doesnt look normal....
-
And I'm not saying that I'm sure it doesn't...but I mean, try some generic alternatives to scripted meds, and see if they help? Maybe try lotion to help with the dryness? It doesn't have to be anything special. It does say "Body Lotion" after all.

i found some pictures that kinda look like my penis head.... believe it or not, its simply under wikipedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glans_penisScroll down and look at the bottom. Only thing is that i am circumcised...Maybe uncricumscised penis heads tend to be redder? if u look closely u can kinda see some small bumps too. Is this normal?
-
Are you thinking of any particular picture? They all look normal to me.
-
this one particularly because if u look, the rim of the penis is dark red like mine. as well as the urethra meatus looks a bit puffy/red.

Is my penis normal? its just changed? i Mean, i am turning 18, maybei was just blooming a lil later and its just puberty? lol
-
so that discoloration is normal??? I wonder why my dermatologist put me on hydro-chloric cream or w/e then sayign it was sexual iiritation?
-
The glans is quite easily irritated, to the extent that a little redness in areas is quite normal. If there is no pain I wouldn't worry about it.

-
I can see that the rim is pinker than the rest of the glans, but the colour looks perfectly normal to me. The picture is too fuzzy to see any bumpiness, but some bumpiness, as in the Wikipedia pictures, is normal.

hey, here another pic, i know its still noit very good, but its better than the other. Im gunna borrow my firends camera, for a good pic...ive been using cell phones. If you look closely, u can notice how the meatus is red. is this coloration normal? If you can't post a picture that can accurately show the problem than don't post anything. A picture from 3 feet away is not helping or appropriate. -sdp
