I know your sick of hearing it but… my AVG is being stupid again. I don’t know if it’s the AVG tho. It’s acting like it cant update but keeps trying. Reinstall helped fix the other problem I had and then this one popped up. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it was fine one day but now- web shield is not active. It don’t say it’s outdated or anything thing just not active. So I looked to activate it but I can’t figure it out. So what could be blocking from updating and keeping web shield in active? Oh and I downloaded that link, spd, to clean up … so any other ideas? …anyone??

Well, given your on a Windows machine, you could try disabling Windows security center/firewall. They recommend you don't turn them off, unless you have third party software installed that offers the same protection. To check that, go to Start>Control Panel>Security Center. This may help too. Not sure if you've checked already, but maybe this can help too? If you want, you can PM me for help, or I use MSN, my user name is in the profile.

i yhink it might be windows. do need it? i have kerio firewall and avg for scanning bla bla.. but i have no idea how to run it off. i think it;s blocking my avg updates.
it used to be off. i dk how it got back on. :confused:does the security center block stuff? i thoguth it just told my other things are working.??

Nope, you don't need it. (So long as you have 3rd-party, which you do.)If security center is enabled, and the built in Win firewall is on, that very well may be the cause of your issues. Maybe if you recently installed something, windows updated, or something completely random, it turned itself back on. Try turning it off and see if AVG will update, then. Windows firewall blocks some crazy stuff, probably because it's not made by MS. Lol.>>It WILL tell you if your third-party things are working, etc, but it might also say that windows firewall is on. When you click on the firewall tab in SC, it should say what's running, and what's not.
