I am 19 years old and got glasses at age of 11 (-1.25 both eyes). It continued to deteriorate with time and now I have -4 at right eye and -6.5 at left. My right eye hasn't deteriorated for last 3 years but left has been getting worse and worse. Both my parents had glasses at same age as me.Why is it happening so that one eye is stable and other is not ? I am now so worried that thinking to get vision correction treatment (PKR). One thing is that I daily spend 4-5 hours in front of screen in vacations and 1 hour when I have college on. Also less involved in outingsHopefully masturbation hasn't anything to do with it.Aren their any eye tests that can help me track problem with my left eye

Deteriorating eyesight

LOL! Pawing off....
I would ask your optometrist about further tests to see why it's so bad in one, and not the other. But I think it's fairly normal for your eyes not to be "symmetrical". I think I'm something like 20 & 20.5.
A camp counselor that I had once, he has about -17 and -20 eyesight. His glasses are/were probably about 4cm thick, and he was completely blind w/o them. -
I'm sure masturbation has nothing to do with it. I don't know about looking at computer screens - there is one hypothesis that short-sightedness is more common now because of urbanisation, because people now rarely see the horizon. It is better to wait for laser eye correction until things have settled - otherwise you might get it fixed and then it keeps deteriorating. The usual sort of eye test at a distance, with your right eye closed and glasses on, compared with the right eye, should at least tell you if the left is getting worse.
