That was stupid. It's pretty obvious that he was introducing people to Medvedev with whom they shook hands. He wasn't looking for a handshake rather directing him to each representative.

The prize was awarded for his work and promotion of dialog and peace before he became president. During his campaign he pushed the consideration of the race to focus on dialog with foes rather than simple hawkish reactions. That is what the award is for, not for anything he did or didn't do after he became president. As you said, it had only been 12 days. The idea that the award has no merit based on timing is a simple red herring, republican talking point, to engender disfavor and suspicion.
Whether he was the most deserving or for that matter deserving at all is another matter open to debate.

Obama reminds you of Adolph Hitler? Obama doesn't even make major decisions, no president really has. It's the people behind the scenes, investors major corporations that make decisions. It's not conspiracy its just true. Also, What's wrong with socialism? Modern socialism exists in Sweden and it has one of the highest standards of living in Europe.. Also one of the happiest countries in the world. As for the nobel peace prize, it's true that obama has changed the tone of americans from a hostile one to perhaps one of peacemaking. Whether it's racial tension or international affairs. However it's one thing to say it, and another to do. Sticking more soldiers in Afghanistan is as stupid as staying in Iraq.Russia was there for 18 years, nothing changed. Just give it up.
