I've had a pimple about 5 inches below the tailbone which I once popped, cleaned, and gave no further thought to. It just recurred, and I did the same again, cleaning with alcohol, and is now taken care of. I'm concerned, however, it might not be so benign; after some googling, I came up with Pilonidal cyst as a probabilty, but while I'm in the at risk category there's no pain or anything asides from very slight discomfort when sitting, whereas the majority of the cysts I saw were drastic cases. The tissue underneath feels slightly thicker comparatively. Is this anything I should worry the slightest about?

Pilonidal Cyst.. but not?

You should definitely see a surgeon who is into pilonidal cysts!Find an experienced surgeon and then show it to him he will tell you what to do. You can also go to pilonidal.org and ask for further advice. Don't let this get worse by ignoring it.

After some poking around, if it's a Pilonidal, it's extremely small. It just feels like a tiny cyst, as I think I can feel the sac under the skin. There is absolutely no pain, and I only noticed it when the 'pimple' was full, and even then, barely. Are there any methods to remove cysts at home? I doubt it, but I'd like to at least check before going to a surgeon straightaway. Otherwise, I'll seek professional medical attention.

No you cannot remove it. If it really is a PC you need to go to a qualified surgeon only he can tell you what to do. My advice is don't ignore it because if it is a PC then it needs to be taken care of otherwise things could get bad over time! Go to the forum I suggested and ask them. They will tell you exactly the same. You can also ask them for a surgeon in your area.
