i am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. honestly speaking you need to check your diet. going veg or eating more veggies does make you fart a bit more than usual (thats the truth) but it doesnt smell as bad as your case. i think you need to re-evaluate your diet and correct it. you may be having digestion problems due to the change in diet.

Horrible Smelling Farts

What is an ovo-lacto vegetarian?Hmmm...The onle thing that's changed is the less meat, I still use as much milk as I had before...I don't know. Maybe I need to think about it more.

I think it might be from eating sweets. I ate some candy and a Reese's peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie. I felt a little nauseous afterward and gassy. I still feel pretty gassy and that was some hours ago. Really sweet stuff make my stomach hurt, but never the made smelling farts. I guess now it's different. I think I've been eating less sweets, until today.

Combination of meat and sugar is said to be particularly bad.

Perhaps the high amount of refined sugar and/or maybe too much of any kind of sugar.I must be still adjusting to the less meat in my diet...or when I eat it after I haven't had it for a while.I think I may have found the culprit(s).

Think your "horrible smeling farts" are caused by your diet. Try top eat less meat and eat more vegetables and fruits.

I'm going to go against the grain here, and say that you need to eat a little more meat (preferably red meat). Fats tend to have a soothing effect on the digestive system, so consuming less meat may actually cause the increase in gas. In my own experience, I have the highest volume and the smelliest gas when I haven't consumed meat in a while. When I get bloated, I just eat some red meat and the gas goes away without flatulence. Just some food for thought (no pun intended).

I get constipated and bloated. Considering the bad health that runs in my family I really need to stay away from read meat.I think I'll stick on the less meat more veggies track.
