For most people, any exercise is better than no exercise. It's easy to get caught up in the specific workout routines (cardio vs. weights/interval vs constant training). The most important thing is to stick with an exercise routine that YOU can do.
For me, my routines are about 15-20 minutes long because I don't have time to spend hours at the gym. I get the same effects as my old hour long workouts.What really works for me is combination exercises and intense training. A typical workout routine will look something like this:
Monday/Thursday (upper body)
Chest press followed by weighted rows, 8 reps each per set, 3 sets with 1 min of break in between each set
Shoulder press followed by pull-ups, 8 reps per set, 3 sets/1min rest per
Bicep curl followed by tricep extension, 10 reps per set, 2 sets/1min rest per
Quick 5 min interval cardio - bike or elliptical (1min fast, 30 sec slow x3 with 1 min cool down)Tuesday/Friday (lower body)
Squats followed by dead lifts, 8 reps per set/3 sets with 1 min break in between
Lunges followed by calf raises, 8 reps per set/3 sets with 1 min break in between
Plank x3, 1min hold, 1 min rest
Quick 5 min interval cardioWednesday/Weekends are for rest and stretching.

We can get fitness easily with doing cardio exercises. I always prefer cardio exercises to maintain fitness.This is my suggestion to everyone to do cardio exercise.
