Okay.. The ads and this site are pissing me off. I will click to read something and the ad will come up (Some dog food?) and thats it. Nothing more. Its been happening for a week or so now. If I can't go anywhere, I won't come here. Its not a pop up either. Just one of the banners.

Perhaps they are using special targeting. Craig will get the ones about unicycling.
-
do they really have "unicycle travel"?
-
LOL! I know exactly what you're talking about...the science diet dog ad....it comes up and the forum doesn't, i've had quite a number of problems with these ads on this site in the past few weeks, a lot of them are carrying viruses....so people beware!

I recommend that anyone using Microsoft Windows install anti-virus and anti-spyware software, just in case these ads are installing viruses or spyware on your computer.
If you don't have anti-virus software, there are two free online scans available that I know about:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?productid=symhome&langid=ie&venid=sym
There is also a good free anti-spyware program called Spybot which can be downloaded here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
You may be surprised at the amount of things it finds.
I don't know about support for other operating systems though (Mac, Linux, etc.).
-
I want to add too that if you visit porn sites, there is a high probability that you've got viruses and spyware on your computer.
-
I have spyware and anti virus installed on my computer.
-
i don't know wut the hell i got on mine. lol virus killer, pop up killer, fire wall, ad ware.......lol i don't know if my computer can take any more "protection" stuff. lol
-
hahaha (Linux laughs in the face of the poor pathetic windows users)jk i'm a windows user too
-
I use Panda, although it is expensive because it's from Spain and the Dollar/Euro exchange rate means it costs more than it says on their website. They have a good online scanner though that really saved us at work when McAffee failed (it sucks, don't use it).
-
the science diet doesn't seem to affect it anymore...sexpot, i have mcafee and it works great

the 2 best free anti-virus packages ive found to be are both AVG and McAffee. McAffee is the virus checker used by Microsoft for their emailing services, so is very good, but i already have that for my emails, so i opted for AVG which is equally good in my opinion. Ive gotten on comfortably with Spybot for a while now, but i installed Adaware as well purely on the grounds that the more scanning devices you have, the more crap you can get out of your system
