Hi Everyone!! The following links will take you to news reports and message boards regarding a VERY upsetting decision by the Swedish courts. In fact - I'll go beyond saying it's upsetting and call it what it is... absolute insanity. It is an example of just how far the politically correct among us will go to maintain what THEY BELIEVE is 'right' and 'fair'. It is - without a doubt - terrifying. And don't kid yourself - it DOES effect YOU. Freedom of expression is not something that we can take for granted. There are [as this news report clearly illustrates] people in this world who WILL [given the chance] do whatever it takes to KEEP YOU QUIET. Here is a quote from one of these links..."A Swedish court has sentenced a pastor belonging to the Pentecostal movement in Sweden, Ake Green, to a month in prison, under a law against incitement, after he was found guilty of having offended homosexuals in a sermon. Soren Andersson, the president of the Swedish federation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights (RFSL), said on hearing the sentence that religious freedom could never be used as a reason to offend people. "Therefore," he told journalists, "I cannot regard the sentence as an act of interference with freedom of religion."All I can say is... 'shame on the president of the RFSL'. What do YOU think?! I hope this makes you MAD

I agree with you, it is rather disturbing. I mean, it's church, if you don't like the sermon, nobody's really making you sit there and listen to it. While I definitely don't agree with that minister, he certainly has the right to his opinions, and certainly the right to voice them. Whether a church pulpit is the best place for it, well, that's not for a court to decide.

That's actually a rather surprising story. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and being that it was in a church I dont see how the government could get involved like that. Then again in different countries there are different rules and laws. It is one of the stupidest thing i've every heard though.

yeah that's taking political correctness too far. In Britian it's getting ridiculous, post office Christmas cards are no longer allowed to show religous scenes, eg. angels, because it might offend minority groups like Muslims. What nice people those Muslims are, their main men said something along the lines of 'That's ridiculous. Why should we be offended if another religion is having a festival? Idiots.'
