My friend ashley and some guy did this.. it is not a safe method.. what is the percentage of this working? Shes not worried at all.. im like freaking out.. what should she do?
-
Pulling out method
-
no it's not a safe or reliable method because precum can contain sperm, you can't put a percentage on it though
-
there is a name for people who use this method.
they're called PARENTS.
pregnancy rates for withdrawal are cited at 19% - 25% depending on what study you're looking at.
-
morning after pill just incase?
-
After looking into the morning after pill I'm not much of a fan. The possible side effects are unbeleivable.Your friend Ashley should really look into birth control pills and condoms.
-
That's really stupid. She's very likely to get prenant or maybe even get an STD. She has no idea what getting pregnant will change her life when she isn't planning on it. She might as well play Russian Roulette.I got into an argument with my sister about "pulling out" because she claims that what the "rhythm method" is, and I said it isn't. I say the rhythm method is when you track when you ovulate and have unprotected sex when you're not fertile.Am I right or is she?

I have a friend who used this method for a while...until it failed and his girl friend got pregnant. As someone said, it's like Russian roulet. You know it's going to fail. You just don't know when.
-
you're right

For some reason... it really got to me the comparisson of getting pregnant wihtout planning with russian roulete :S i don't think having a baby wihtout planning should be compared with such a horrible thing... :S it actually made me kinda sad when i read it I mean... having an unlpanned pregnancy is bad... but it's not the end of your life... plus... she can always get an abortion (eventhought i'm against abortions because of unlpanned pregnancy) The person who get's pregnant should deal with it and be responsible enought to take care of the child... doesn't mean their life is over... i have 5 firends who got pregnant and they are all under 20. They live they live a happy life and love theyr babies to death... none of them ever said they didn't like it or wished it didn't happen.i think it's wrong compareing the gift of life to Russian Roulete!but that's just my opinion...

I use the pull-out method all the time, and have done so on numerous occasions with several different partners & never has one of them get pregnant. First off the odds of a girl gettin pregnant isnt that good in the first place. I know of couples that try to have kids for several months before they finally concieved. So taking that into consideration, depending on the guy, precum most probably wont have near the concentration of sperm as the actual cum if any. As long as you dont slip up & nut inside the odds are extremely low of the girl getting pregnant, ESPECIALLY if she's on birth control. With that being said, if birth control is 95% effective; condoms are 85% effective; I would say the pull-out method is at least 70% effective. Then again, thats just my opinion.

70% is not what i'd consider "effective"!
