I believe in God. If you don't believe in Him, try to disprove it. Read "A Case For Christ" Its about this athiest reporter who trys just that.

Do you believe in God?
-
Written by someone who believes in god no doubt!
-
Well, yeah...a book on apologetics, making a case for the existence of God, would naturally be written by a guy who believes in God.
Does that make it invalid? Or more valid? -

do people who beleive in god, beleive that the bible proves jesus etc existed? If so, how do you know that there isn't a page missing saying "any simularity to anyone living or dead is purley coincidental" Like the disclaimer on the films etc.....As you can probably see, I DON'T believe in God, if he does exist, I hate him for making my daughter blind!

Is it okay if I field this one? In reply to: do people who beleive in god, beleive that the bible proves jesus etc existed? There is a field of study called Apologetics which is concerned with proving the existence of God/Jesus, the truth of the Bible, that sort of thing. Most of it doesn't use the Bible to prove the existence of Jesus. That wouldn't have much validity - using something to prove itself. Usually apologist (like Lee Stroble, C.S. Lewis, Aquinas, Etc.) use external documents (histories, etc.), logic, and such. That's a great question by the way. In reply to: I DON'T believe in God, if he does exist, I hate him for making my daughter blind! As a Christian, I totally get that. There have been times when I've wanted to be angry at him for things that have happened to me but didn't have the balls. That must mean you're braver than me. Also, if there is a God , your saying you hate him doesn't piss him off. He gets it too. Thanks for sharing that In reply to: any simularity to anyone living or dead is purley coincidental" Wouldn't that make a great Far Side cartoon?!?

answer question...no...but i am good person, and he should understand that. Peace out.

In reply to:Your Fact, is wrong amanda. there are people who know that God is real, they're called believers. There are people who know that the Tooth Fairy is real. They're called children. What does it mean to "know" something that can't be proven, but only demonstrated by how it affects one's emotional state?

In reply to:We've established that the moon has its own gravitational pull. Now tell me why, when the earths gravitational pull is 83% stronger than the moons why the earth isn't pulling the moon into our atmosphere at an alarming rate? The moon has ONLY 1/6 of the earth's gravitational power.Dude, you need to study celestial mechanics before you post stuff like this, or you'll scare the hell out of folks who are unfamiliar with science. The moon is actually moving away from the Earth:"The Moon's orbit (its circular path around the Earth) is indeed getting larger, at a rate of about 3.8 centimeters per year. (The Moon's orbit has a radius of 384,000 km.)"Isn't science cool? I'll leave it as an exercise to the religious to explain why this is so, but think about swinging a weight attached to a string over your head.In any case, a lack of understanding of fundamental physics doesn't prove the existence of God.Science can explain a lot about the behavior of gases, including how they hold up things like airplanes. So far Boyle's Law and other formulas seem to always work. Useful things can be engineered through an understanding of science. Things like cars, jet aircraft, antibiotics, bridges, public water supplies, and neurosurgery.I'm still trying to figure out what religion and belief in gods has added to the quality of human life (I don't consider religious wars, crusades, or bigotry as enhancing the human condition).I've also yet to see a formula explaining the behavior of God.

In reply to:Science is not 100% guys.Very true. Science often goes down the wrong path, or is corrupted by politics or religious belief, but in the long term, it converges on a model that explains the behavior of the physical world.Religion is rigid and unchanging. Science tends to correct itself over time, and leads to things like airplanes, the Internet, and clean drinking water. It also allows us to understand why the moon and the Earth, which have a mutual gravitational attraction, don't crash into each other.

In reply to:I believe in God. If you don't believe in Him, try to disprove it. Read "A Case For Christ" Its about this athiest reporter who trys just that. It's a logical fallacy to disprove the negative. Prove that Donald Trump doesn't have a condo on Mars. In fact, prove that Donald Trump is not God. And while you're at it, prove that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist.

Well i believe in God and i dont need it to be proven to me that he is real or isnt i jus feel in my heart that he is real! God gives us all a gift and that gift is the freedom to believe in him or not, but whoever decides to take God's hand will be rewarded bcuz he will never let u go astray. If God didnt let us make our own decisions he wouldnt know who the good ppl were and who he should bring to heaven, thats y he lets bad things happen. And sumtimes it's jus their time to go. But that is jus my opinion.

Say everything you said but substitute "Zeus" or "Gaia" or "Tooth Fairy" for God, and it makes just as much sense. If you are comforted by your belief, more power to you. I will be upset, though, if you impose your beliefs on me through the political process or by other coercive means.
-
I believe in God with my whole heart. People are always saying there is no proof of his existence all I have to say is look around you. Where did all of this come from? Some people say the big bang theory is how this world came into existence, well the way I see it is God said something and BANG it happened, thus the Big Bang theory. I believe that God does exist, I believe that Christ is his son and that he is the messiah. You can either believe it or not, it's your choice. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs.

Lot's of people believe lots of stuff, and, according to them, all you have to do is look around to see the evidence. There are folks who are sure they've been anal-probed by space aliens--the tall green ones, with the two big eyes. And lots of Koreans think Kim Jong-il is a (or the) god.Your post reveals your internal emotional state, but it doesn't advance the inquiry into whether God exists. Logically, if you make a claim, it's incumbent upon you to prove it; asking one to prove the negative is fallacious. But if we're outside the realm of logic, then go ahead and believe whatever makes you happy. But understand that most folks (that I've met) who don't believe in the existence of a supernatural being are also happy. And who created God? Or is that question off the table? And if some supernatural force created everything you see, how do you know it wasn't some other god? Or aliens from another galaxy?A more rational way to look at the issue is to say, "I don't believe in the Big Bang theory for reasons A, B, and C; so I don't know how the universe came about. Perhaps some day we'll figure it out".But some folks can't tolerate the idea of not knowing, so they must fill the void with something.
