i have just finished my second pack of birth control and the first month i was completely fine, no side effects that were too noticable, but this month, more so this week, i have been feeling really sad and crying for no reason. everything is going well in my life and i dont really know why im feeling this way. i am suppose to start my period next week so i am wondering if its a combination of my pill usage and my upcoming period, and if so is this normal and will go away, or should i get on a different pill??thank you so much

Depression/anxiety on the pill??

not really, school started up again, other than that everything is going great..its just really odd. and a lot of people that i talked to said they got really emotional on it for a while. its just the worst feeling ever.

the pill shouldn't be doing that to you

Yeah i wouldnt think the pill would cause the emotional rollercoater.Though your period coming up in a fews day can cause it..I know im an emotional mess when my period is about to start. happens everytime!!

Sugarhb wow i am having the same exact problem here. I am on my second month of mircette pills and i have 1 more week till i get my period. I have been having depression and there is nothing wrong in my life, I'm usually such a happy & positive person. It makes you feel like your crazy and everyone is noticing my change. I have had this problem a couple years ago with Ortho Tri Cyclene and my doctor had me get off of it because it had too much estrogen for my body. I am really starting to hate Birth Control Pills because for those of us that have perfect hormone levels without pills it makes our body nuts by adding the pills. I'm waiting for a call back from my doctor on what im supposed to do now. It suck so bad right now and nothings making me happy. There's got to be an alternative to this.

i totally feel for you..im glad im not the only one cause i seriously thought i was going crazy..im going to take the pill for one more month and see what happens and if it doesnt get better i am going to ask my doctor if there is anything else i can do. it does suck that without it, we are fine, but with it we are messed up. if you could, let me know what your doctor suggests to you..im curious if that would be what i should do as well..thank you

I've had exactly the same problem! I started on the pill for general contraception, my periods have always been regular down to the point that i could almost pin point the day i would get it, but when i started on the pill everything got screwed up. I'm generally a nervous kind of person anyway but the pill has made it a hundred times worse and on the combined one i found i got depressed. I've stopped taking it a few days ago to give my body a break and see if i notice a change. Don't feel like you're going crazy! If you are experiencing regular periods and things are fine in that respect then in my experience the pill can make things go haywire, it just depends on the person, for some of my friends it's made their periods more regular and works for them, it's totally an individual thing.
