I guess you may have heard that Vincent Gallo's picture the Brown Bunny has an explicit scene in which Oscar-nominee Chloe Sevigny performs oral sex on Gallo. This of course is causing quite a stir. This movie is NOT RATED for obvious reasons. It seems that exclicit sex is slowly finding its way into "mainstream" films, and apparently this has been happening in Europe for a few years already (mainly in Italy). It hasn't been an issue in the United States until this film was released and now people are asking, is this really necessary?Do you think this scene was added just to cause controversy so it would sell tickets (Roger Ebert says it's one of the worst films he's ever seen) or do you think this may become more common in the future? I haven't seen the picture, but I saw a small video clip on the web, and it looks real enough and is likely to wind up on a lot of porn sites.

Brown Bunny oral sex scene

That wasn't even him. It was a "stunt penis".

oh yeah I remeber hearing about this and the scene was real because the two actors where dating at the time it was filmed

It was him alright. And he made some major revisions to the movie. Ebert really liked the edited version. Probably because it was actually a coherent movie. I'm probably one of the few who think he just saw it as part of the movie. If he was dating her, all he had to do was yell cut to get the same deal in his trailer. As for explicit sex in movies, or more explicit sex in movies well I think it depends on what it adds to the movie. Monster's Ball was pretty explicit, yet Halle Berry won an Oscar. If it makes the story better, or its what happened in the story - I say go for it. People have sex everyday, and there's far worse on the net than what gets into cinemas.
