I was just wondering what some of the causes of miscarriages are. I just found out that my aunt lost her 2nd baby last night 5 months into the pregnancy. She already has 3 kids. There have also been a lot of other miscarriages with other family members and i'm just wondering what are some of the causes of them?

Miscarriages

i think its when there is something wrong with the pregnancy- a way of protection. Also if your body is not healthy enough to support it...

There a probably a million reasons why and most cannot be explained unfortunately. Most of the time though it's not that you didn't take care of your body, but rather there were problems with the pregnancy to begin with.

okay thanks..but one more thing it isnt hereditary or anything like that is it? Because I mean a lot of people in my family have had miscarriages, but my entire family comes from a long line of athletes and people who take great care of their bodies so it doesnt seem that they would lose a baby over a not well taken care of body..but then again who knows

im not too sure about the hereditry thingy but there is just one mian cause of misscariges..as she was 5monthsgone the baby could have been deform in some kind of way i had a miscarrige 7 weeks back so the docs thinks i was only about 3 months but i mean we will never know if it was a miscarriage or what the cause was. I think it all depends on how far you are how healthy the baby is and any problems that the mother or baby might have.

I really don't think "not taking care of your body" has a lot to do with it. Read this link:http://www.womens-health.co.uk/miscarr.htm

Anything from physical trauma to nervousness can cause them.

Wow thanks a lot. Reading that helped, i just worry about my family. I've got so many aunts and cousins and it just seems that they just keep getting pregnant, but then just miscarry the baby. That's why i'm worried it's hereditary..little scary knowing if it is that i could lose my baby someday. But of course God does everything for a reason. Thanks for all the help here, helped a lot with understanding this
