Well... Tonight I hit my dumb bells for awhile.. Got my arms nice and soar..(Kinda shaking now)... I love it. Feels so good to be doing this again. But.. I decieded after hitting the weights I would jog around my room a bit.. so I did. I turned on a 6 minute song and went for that. 2 minutes in, the leftside/left center of my chest got a stabbing pain it. I stopped for a second and just kept at it (jogging).. and finished the song out. I quit smoking cigarettes over a week and a half ago, and since then only thing I had was two little hits of a cigar (Not sure if I even got it in my lungs.. I was driving) ... and I havn't had any weed since sunday.. and the week prior to that.. maybe 5-8 bowls...Whats up with this? I figured its just normal since I'm out of shape, but just wanted to check. -Thanks

Left chest pain while excercising

I get that too -- except I've never been a smoker. That leads me to believe it has nothing to do with the smoking, perhaps?

Maybe its just a sore muscle. I don't think you can *feel* lung problems like that, and it couldn't be your heart or anything crazy like that either.

i know this is old but i would like to help. You should prob. get it cheaked out i had some heart problems so i know that it could be serious. but it could just be musule pains but u should get it cheaked out

i used to get that all the time when i did baseball. i think its probably normal

hmmm i got that once, wrecking pain, about the heart problem stuff. That runs through my family, my dad died from a heart attack and i think i might be going same way to :-/ wonder if the pain is a lil get ready sign.

When running or doing resistance equipment that works the upper body, I get pain in my left shoulder. I think it's from sore tendons in that area, and I'm not sure if it's the same as yours. I do know that if it is that kind of thing, then you just need to give it time to heal or take some anti inflammatories (if you do continue to strain it) so that it doesn't become tendonitis. If it's coming from your upper stomach or lower chest, then it could be cramps from any number of things (usually minor things). Things like that just need to be worked out.If it is a problem with your heart or lungs, then I suggest getting it checked out since it could be potentially serious. Btw, you can't really consider yourself exempt for a smoker's unhealthy symptoms since you've only stopped for a week and a half. It's great that you're stopping, but your body doesn't heal yourself that fast. As far as the cigars go, that is smoking, and you should try to stop the drugs, and weed can be just as bad for your lungs considering that it's often smoked unfiltered (this is the truth, for those that think otherwise, don't listen to the rumours that "weed isn't harmful for your lungs the way smoking is").

I had the same thing in my shoulder (except the pain but the doctor says it escalades to it) anyways I went to the doc b/c my shoulder was "double-jointed" I could pop it in and out w/o pain. Turns out I had shoulder sublexation and now I have to go to Physical Therepy. If it would get worse I would need surgery. You should probably get it checked out.

i have actually got a heart diseas so i have been taught quite alot about the heart.most of the time it is normal even when u dont smoke while excercising because your heart has to pump more blood around the body it will ocaisionaly get soar mostly in the left ventrical which is what pumps the blood so just then take a breakif it happens often well then i would tell your doctorand also give your self and heart a headstart by trying to avoid salt and cafeine since cafeine makes the heart work overtime by giving u energy try this small diet rearangment but if u do feel uncomfortable i would do what suits you best Hope This Helps A Little

I wouldn't worry about it too much mate, my guess is that the chest pain is more to do with your lungs in ability to take on oxygen fast enough. If you are running and start to get this pain take long drawn out breaths (10 secs in and 10 secs out) after doing that a few times it should greatly decrease the pain which will disappear all together when your lung capacity increases as a result of regular excercise. Well this is wot happened to me.

Your probably just working yourself to hard which causes the pain. Kick it down a notch and take it easy.

There's probably nothing wrong. I had to wear a holter monitor because of the same thing, but there was nothing wrong with me.
